How to make the pluck strum on baritone ukulele? (I mean, strings order on DGBE pattern) Great Tutorial! I love this song! 😍
@BrookePalmer2 жыл бұрын
You can just do the same pattern! The tuning intervals are the same for baritone, just lower, if that makes sense… the pitches DGBE are spaced apart the same as GCEA
@jhonnywoliver2 жыл бұрын

So I am loving your tutorials and how easy this song is for a beginner uke player like me. Can you do Stuck Like Glue by Sugarland?? It has a small rap in it and I’m struggling to get some funk into it. Again though... loving the tutorials 👍🏼
@BrookePalmer5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I would do a D - UD strum for that rap verse (with the Ds on 1 and 3, and the U on the "and" of 2) - but really it's up to you to bring the funk no matter what the song is doing, you feel me?!

Help please! I found very hard to synchronise the chorus with the strumming patern; It would be very nice if you can show a bit longuer how to manage to do that. Your lessons and your smile are both great. Thank you very much.
@BrookePalmer6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Marjorie! I definitely understand about having difficulty strumming and matching with the lyrics of songs - this is the hardest thing for most players, me included! It took a lot of practice, years!, for me to get strumming down when I started playing in 2010. I have more in-depth lessons for the strums used in this lesson that break it down a little slower - the links are in the description box. Basic strum 2 ain't easy but that's why it sounds cool haha ... In my opinion, it's best to practice practice practice to master the rhythm of a strum so it comes naturally instead of trying to micromanage matching lyrics to a part of a strum pattern for individual songs. My song lessons are designed to give the basic info about chord patterns and strum rhythms - I don't make like a spoken tab with lyrics, because that's not my teaching style. I find it inefficient and time-consuming. It's not for everybody, maybe it's not for you, but that's my channel MO : provide information in a brief efficient format that viewers can use to practice with on their own time. Happy strumming! :-)

why is singing and strumming so hard i cant be the only one having trouble with it.
@BrookePalmer5 жыл бұрын
Because it's doing two things at once in rhythm haha! You are not alone! Everyone has trouble with it, especially in the beginning, me included! Practice practice practice! There is a myth that ukulele is 'easy' because people think it's a toy - but it's just like any other instrument - you must practice :-) That is why we love simple thumb strumming - take it one step at a time and master the easier strums first before doing one more difficult. Keep at it! :)
@sableortizkimball14055 жыл бұрын
F12_ LambSh4nk i feel your struggle! Singing and playing took me soooo long to get the hang of (literally 4 hours on the kitchen floor trying to sing the same line whilst playing 🤦🏽♀️ and STILL didn’t get it!) now (with hours of practice) I can mostly do it, some strumming patterns are still hard to rhythmically play and sing but it gets there’s slowly!
@c.h.75814 жыл бұрын
Yup, I remember those days (only been learning about a year), it was so frustrating! Now I'm really working on moving away from playing the same strumming pattern and getting some finger-picking in too, phew! I recommend starting with something simple, like The Lion Sleeps Tonight! :-D

Darby Brown The whole song is the same chords in the same pattern over and over again, as I first mentioned at 1:25.
