There are TWO ARTISTS who TLC takes influence from. JANET & PRINCE. For Prince, its when they play with their vocals the way he did, like this song. It’s NOT autotune, its just vocal effects. You can also hear it on their covers of, “GET IT UP!” & “If I was your Girlfriend.” NOW, for JANET’s influence. Its NOT one particular song. Its their sound. If you go listen to “The Velvet Rope,” and the “JANET” album, and then go listen to “ Fan Mail,” and “3D.” You will be able to hear her influence, they way Chilli and Tionne stack, layer, and blend their harmonies. Like on “Unpretty,” the “oh whoa. Oh oh whoa….” and “Fan Mail,” with “The Velvet rope” (songs).

This song reminds me of "Case of the Fake People" just with a different sound and groove. However, I sang the first verse, then the chorus and I immediately stopped because it was too similar. Dallas produced it during CrazySexyCool that's genius of him. Love this song though.

this was recording around the same time of case of the fake people. it was supposed to be re-recorded with production like fanmail but it didn't get finished before the deadline so they just made this version a bonus track

@@hyperpophottie.3222 I read that Lisa wrote 8 songs for Fanmail but got rejected by LA Reid. I think it would have been great to hear those songs. I think it would have been nice for the album.

@@ericgreen4610 yes that's true! lisa & dallas just could not get on the same page for the album. it was so bad to thr point lisa started recording a solo album & blaques debut with the exact same theme. lisa had so many other concepts & ideas for fanmail, like doing the song 'Where My Girls At', naming the album Fan2See & so forth but tboz, chilli & dallas was not trying to hear it, which is why lisa started distancing herself from the group.

@@hyperpophottie.3222 Yup. I would have done the same thing. If my contributions are not being taken into account, I'm going elsewhere so that I can get the recognition that I deserve. She collaborated with other artists like N'Sync, Mya, Sporty Spice, Donell Jones, Toni Braxton, Blaque, Egypt, Tupac, Suge Knight, Keith Sweat....and she even said in her song "I believe in Me" "Everybody says all they want is the truth. Well the truth is I still got love for my group..."
