The thing is that while the internal train networks are usually pretty good (for a low enough value of good) internationally it's a lot harder to achieve and a lit less common. It's not standardized, so there are a lot of problem with intra-EU railway lines. But we're working on it, as you can see.
@sedatmehmed4371

Well you shouldn't be surprised. Rail was often constructed by the states and often with priority of connecting cities in the country. International connections are few and aren't prioritised. That's why international trains in Europe are rare and also f*cking expensive. Brussel-Paris is around 25 bucks with bus and 80 by train

As someone who has spent a significant amount of time in Latvia due to my dad residing there. Latvia and the other Baltic nations are sick of Russia. Just search for the Russian embassy building in Latvia which is, ofcourse, as you expect giant and gorgeous looking, completely surrounded by anti Russian messages and 24/7 police to guard the embassy from people trying to vandalize the building. It’s a lovely sight to see and it symbolizes their transfer of the old Soviet mentality towards something more beneficial for themselves after the struggles they were put through.

France under the wannabe-Napoleon and Germany with it's green lunatics trying to lecture all of Europe to follow this green ideology are in my opinion the biggest threat to all EU nations. An EU leadership keen on centralism and control of the smaller states is dangerous, too. The best defense for the Baltics would be realism. China and India are growing. These are the nations one have to be in business contacts. Russia is more or less China's junior partner. The Baltics should try to become the est end of the new Silk Road. Isolationism towards any neighbor is fatal. This made China weak some centuries ago and enabled colonization.

@@danielefabbro822 Exactly. And DE is actually in decline because of the Merkel mistakes. Turning off nuclear power was REALLY bad idea. France has problems but neither France nor Germany are alone. PS. And the decline in quality of life WOULD happen anyway. Because the living standard in countries from where EU shipped cheap products are increasing and so the prices of imports. 30 years ago Chinese ppl earned scraps. Now they earn salaries similar to those in many EU countries. Remember "fair trade" stuff? It is happening anyway because ppl everywhere want to live better and earn more. So they are paid better.

Great idea. I experienced many trips from Denmark to Stockholm in Sveden. You travel from city center to city center. You do not have to show up 2 or 3 hours before departure - 1 minute is enough. You do not go through this annoying security check. And in train the comfort is at least like business class in a plain. Still Arlanda, airport in Stockholm, is far away from the city - this generates additional noticeable cost.
