You could have hit both the ones in Denmark quite fast actually. There is a plane that flies from Copenhagen to Sønderborg 3-4 times a day, and Sønderborg is quite close to Aabenraa. But it's not a cheap flight, and afterwards you'd struggle to get out of Aabenraa (easiest would be a several hour drive to Billund or Hamburg), so it really should have been a 4-5 pointer.

I feel so bad for Jack. I forgot my passport on my way to a gig in Paris 10 years ago and realised just before getting on the EuroStar in London. I had to go all the way back to Stoke-on-Trent (about a 5hr round trip) to pick it up, somehow I still made it to Paris just in time for the gig. (Luckily I had set off early in the morning because I'd planned to spend the day queueing). I can't even imagine the stress of that happening while in the middle of a race 😢

2 questions: How the hell do you lose a passport in the middle of a trip? Would you have needed a passport if not for Brexit? (i.e. can you blame Boris Johnson)
@peterfireflylund Жыл бұрын
Yes, because the UK was never in the Schengen Zone. Even if it had been, they would still need some form of photo id -- doesn't have to be a passport, could be a driving license for example. Electricity bills and gas bills don't count ;)
@petertaylor4980 Жыл бұрын
Technically they would have needed a passport. However, on non-air routes checking was sometimes lax. My grandad went from England to France for D-Day commemorations one year and only discovered at the UK border on the way back that he'd taken my late grandma's passport by mistake. He was allowed back in eventually on the strength of his WWII military ID document!

My science brain immediately started working the moment this game started. If I was there, and I knew in advance how the game would work, I would try to write a program to calculate the optimal route for both points and money. All you'd have to do is input the destinations and the time you start going and the program would do the rest. Would that be cheating? I know it would take all the fun out of it, but you would most likely win. Think brains over brawn😂
@usernameusername4037 Жыл бұрын
way too many unpredictable variables - delays, cancellations, losing your passport, other teams getting there first, etc - would def need an adaptable strategy to not catastrophically collapse... plus it's way easier said than done to write a program to consider every single travel option between even just two points (factoring in possible walking/biking/driving/etc time as well that isn't timetabled - how would you know how long it takes to get from the airport to some house, for example?)
@jipjonnie9088 Жыл бұрын
@@usernameusername4037 and that would be the joy of making the program. To see the adaptability come to life. Make sure the program would be able to adapt to real time delays and charge the plan to still be optimal. To change strategy based on available data, such as another team on your tail. Of course I would only be happy about that after I've thrown my pc out the window multiple times because coding that would be a terrible mess, I've been through that before, but it would be fun to see it actualy work, hypotheticaly.
