No, the hanging part is a reference to treason. If you listen to the lyrics, he mentions treason before the hanging verse. Back in the day, they would hang you for treason…that’s what he’s referring to.

Adam is talking about the people who want to change kids “with procedures” he has been very vocally against that movement. In this song he is referencing those people as evil and that they need to be hanging from the ceilings. It is unfortunate that you are programmed to not hear the context, but only see it as racial. It is surprising how different people can hear things. I never in a million years would have thought anything racial about the hanging line. I’m honestly kinda surprised that connection was made. To be fair, I’m a fan of Adams and I know he grew up in Chicago in circles where he was the minority. His other work makes it very clear that he doesn’t care about care about skin color he cares about character. It’s pretty clear to those that know his work who he wants hanging. Going to shoot at something, meaning if you look in his closet you're going to see a bunch of guns and ammo lol. I do hear what you're saying about the hanging from ceilings like chandeliers, but Adams from Chicago and just has a very different style. I would be willing to put money on the fact that he does not mean it in the way you're interpreting it. But I can see why you would draw that parallel. It's okay not to like certain parts lol. Well in USA we used to have public hangings Wild West style both whites & blacks etc. and when USA caught Saddam his people did that publicly. I think the word that would be offensive is "lynching" which was quite different. That was like street justice B.S. but I do agree very questionable bar there. Hangars are commonly found in closets, what's in yours? Hanging has been a common penalty for all sorts of crimes, for all sorts of people, for as long as people have had rope.

I completely understand your point of view. Tbh the history before the slavery on hanging is different compared to how blacks were treated. Hanging before was a death penalty versus when blacks were getting hung just for being black. @@tloosereacts2830 I reread my comment and I do come off kind of aggressive, which was not my intention. Growing up in this country as someone who is not white, I always took my Freedom of Speech extremely seriously. I have the same ability to speak my mind as everyone else, no matter what color. Today I see more and more calls for censorship and people being told what they "can't" say, which flys in the face of one of my core beliefs. I was a teenager in the '90s. I can honestly say that the racial tension is far worse now than anything I ever experienced growing up. This is on purpose because it is easy to keep people fighting along racial lines, and as long as we are fighting each other, we are easily manipulated.

The first time I heard this song, My eyebrow raised when hearing that part of the song also, BUT ISN’T THAT THE PROBLEM, THE GOVERNMENT HAS SPENT THE LAST THREE YEARS SETTING US BACK 50 YEARS!
