I have an idea Toni ☝🏾 It works for me. Maybe it will for you too. How about adding WIP tags to your unfinished items? I use a small square of drawing paper which I punch a hole into, write what needle I was working with, what I was making and why I paused the item. I then attach it with a stitch marker/pin through the punched hole. Then when I take it back up, it’s easier to restart said item.

This is my first year doing the year long blanket. Ive decided to take the 1-10 pain scale my doctor has me use for my chromic pain to keep track of it every day.😂 So its my pain blanket but my kids picked which skeins went to which numbers when they dont know what the numbers mean. So the higher my pain day they picked prettier yarn so now i have at least one thing to make me happy on my bad days. Plus i can keep travk of it for my doc. Thank you for making videos and things im about to start on my first sweater thanks to you and elise rose crochet talking me into it .

We are supposed to get rain today in SoCal. Clouds coming in now! It was been so dry and windy my nose, lips and skin are so dry. Our home was snug out spot for relatives if the needed it. It wasn’t but they were grateful for our offer. I have stayed indoors and crocheted and knitted! Somebody did a good rain dance!🌈

@cherisastrahan Hope the rain doesn’t come in torrents. The last thing you need there are mud slides. Have been living in NO. CA for a long time and we’ve had our fire disasters here too. But the canyons & beach communities in SO. CA were my stomping grounds as a teen & young adult. I’m completely heartbroken 💔 over the devastation with every photo I see of the area. I pray that Federal funds soon will be forthcoming to begin the recovery and to start the rebuilding process. Lynn, No. California

@@epena2805 Thank you so far so good. But it's just a "drop" in the drought bucket. I don't know how NoCal fared. HOAs need to stop insisting on green lawns. Don't belong to one but...At least my allergies stopped. We were south of the fires and had family living near them. We said our house was open for any evacuees. My heiphew's wife was a teacher at the Palisades Charter School and it was 90% destroyed. Otherwide everyone else is okay, Just hope the rain comes in small amounts for many occasions. Crochet and knitting were my go to therapy during all of this. I have so many WIPS

From what I’ve heard, the parent company of Joann has filed for bankruptcy twice in the past 12 months. The first time was when the shut down the smaller stores. The second is why so much is sold out or just plain not being stocked. There’s stores that never got any Valentine’s stuff and many other stores are just in disarray

@@susanrussell8195 I followed this video on KZbin, which I just used to make my first sweater. Very beginner friendly in my opinion, you’ll just want to modify it to the size of the child. I used one of my nieces pre-existing sweaters as a size template. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZa5iJ-up8pmppYsi=WiEmR4B15PD60c2g To clarify, the pattern doesn’t include a heart. I am going to crochet one separately and whip stitch it to the body of the sweater. Never done one before but there are plenty of tutorials online.

My goals for this year are to do 2 things: 1) declutter by getting rid of 1 item per day (no matter how large or small) by tossing, recycling, giving away, or repurposing them. I'm keeping a spreadsheet to track them to keep me accountable. 2) Use my stash yarns to knit up a bunch of small items (hats, gloves, scarfs, socks, pot holders, hand towels, etc.) to use as gifts around the winter holiday season 2025. Oh, and Jan 20th - perfectly understandable.

What I'm working on right now is the Azami Sweater (you can find it on Ravelry) using a light fingering/heavy lace weight yarn (sort of marled emerald green/royal blue with a shine to it). It combines cables with lace for a round yoke (with an option to add beads - I'm skipping the beads because my yarn is so beautiful I think the beads would take away rather than adding to it.) Behind that I plan to do a pair of Thrummed Mittens (also on Ravelry) which use a special technique to create a super warm lining.

Your procedure & journaling habit for the mood blanket makes me think about maybe doing one of my own! I‘ve been keeping a five-year daily journal since 2022, and I use different colored pens to write each entry depending on my mood. It’s in no way the introspection and analysis you are clearly putting into yours, and is mostly based on vibes, but it would be an easy enough to just translate the colors of the entries to yarn.

✨️Video suggestion✨️ how to style crochet garmets, (especially for more modest preferences..?) I had this thought when you mentioned the Maple Sweater. I was curious to what you wore underneath it, a long sleeve t or cami..? Anyways love you and appreciate the time you put into content for us😘

Hope you feel better soon Toni. Love the Yarny bingo idea. It seems more fun than the Google Keep list I have that says "Ideas I can work...no pressure". If it makes you feel any better in 2023, my husband and I had two weeks in the US. We both had COVID for the first week then I had a sinus infection for the second week. I did not feel anywhere near better until we got to my husband's home in Trinidad. It was hell though we look back and laugh since we did have a lot of fun. But definitely agree on wearing a mask on the plane from now on. Those things are germ factories

I accidentally over-microdosed myself and true-crime wasn't hitting. January is still a little early for a binge on my gardening inspiration channels, so I landed on yarn crafting. Now to sit back and relax, work a few rows. I deserve craft time! 😂 Thanks for sharing your projects. Your temp blanket looks lovely. I wonder if you could change the stitch to match your mood, some health thing you want to record, or maybe what day of the week it was. Anyway, it looks nice and you finished it! Bravo 👏 👏 👏

Working on two wips, one is my first pair of crochet socks which I started a year ago 😅 the second a slip stitch cardigan for my hubby. Luckily it's a worsted weight on a 6ml hook. But still taking me a long time 😂

I am finishing the OMG Hooded Scarf and loving it. A suggestion for the project bag, if it is not too late. Do a whip stich around the edges of the plastic canvas so the tip ends do not rip up your yarn.

Gday from Victoria Australia. Hope your head clears real quick. I'm currently working on handspinning a blend of alpacca and 21 micron wool fibre into a 3 weight yarn in several shades of dark brown, taupe and cream. I'm using this to crochet a "freeform granny spiral" jacket. The best bit (for me) ... to make spirals in opposite directions I've taught my right-handed self to crochet left-handed 😮. The tension isn't identical yet, but it really increases the fun of the challenge. Hope everyone enjoys their making as much as I do. 😊

Wishing the best for your health, Toni 🥰 Where I live, I don't have access to most yarns I see used in your or Elise Rose Crochet's videos. I try to utilize my stash - sometimes making amigurumi, now working on baskets and bags. As of this video, I'm working on my first piece of the Tobago Bag in nonbinary pride colors. I'm excited at how the parts will work up! I crochet while not helping out at my parents' farm. I tend to watch video game playthroughs, currently Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney with an Actual Lawyer. I'm happy to hear about your collabs and upcoming goals. Take care

I have a ton of wips too haha. My currently working one is a birthday gift for one of my nieces. She's VERY into dragons, and she loves the color orange. So I am making a crocodile/dragonscale scarf in orange, orange mix (impeccable hot sunshine), neon orange, and a vintage rust yarn. It looks SO COOL and I'm only a short way through. I'm hoping that I can make time to make the Maple Sweater. I love it, and I want one so badly! ♥ Even if i don't win, I'd be learning something new, which is enough for me!

Oh my word how I LAUGHED at 1:25!! I have been refusing to kiss my husband on the mouth for the past 2 weeks for this reason! He has been so sad lmao. But I'm like, honey we have 2 kids/germ factories in grammar school, we are in our 40s and a simple cold knocks us flat for a week! My husband gets bronchitis almost every time he gets a respiratory bug these days, and then he is out of commission for an extra 2 weeks. I can't deal with it anymore lol. So no mouth kisses until cold season is over!! As for projects, I have been stress crocheting sunburst squares since MLK day. It keeps me from doom scrolling the news and bursting into tears at random times through the day. 😭 I am still a newbie crocheter, having just begun learning in November, so I am slow lol. But I am making a doll blanket for my daughter. Now my other daughter wants one as well. After that I need to get to work on a memorial quilt for my MIL using FIL's old shirts. I want to crochet a chicken and poncho for my husband, a cowl and sweater for myself, and start making blankets for Project Linus. So thankfully I have plenty of projects lined up to keep me busy. It is really so therapeutic in these worrying times. Thank you for being here to help us find community!

I have liked the idea of a temperature blanket but find tracking temperatures terribly boring. But then I came across the idea of making a 2025 book blanket! I will be making a granny square for every book I read/listen to this year. Each square is designed with colours to match the book cover!
