After a long time I am happy to see TMK and Sriramkumar together! A wonderful concert!!

TM Krishna doing kanakku? That too bang in the first song of the concert. That is partly reverence to the great Mridangam vidwan, and partly a statement to his detractors! As usual, wonderful concert, love the complimentary violin of Vidwan Sriramkumar. The emphasis on raga and song structure by the main artist is highly appreciated. This is the core of our music and it was well demonstrated in this concert.

TMK giving importance to Layam and Kanakku in this concert to honour being accompanied Laya maestro Kamalakar Sir. Uniqueness of TMK : Being disciple of Semmangudi but also Chengalpattu ranganathan from the Laya famous Alathur school [ Amba para devathe itself is proof of this lineage]. TMK a repository of all styles and all Vishayams in Carnatic music. Out of respect to veteran Mridangist, TMK sticks to routine kutcheri format, finishes with mangalam etc. Slightly different concert of TMK . Thanks for sharing

@@lakshmiradhakrishnan3162 and Maya Malliya. how strange that an incredibly gifted singer and one who is brave and open with his political views should earn condemnation rather than appreciation! you may not agree with his views, may not approve of his bold anti caste stand or indeed his decision to champion democratic rights of dissent but to condemn him sounds just plain regressive and unfortunate. What a pity!
