I'm looking to buy a Thermomix, but a bit unsure about the sauteing. The onions still really looked raw. How do you feel about the browning/caramalisation capabilities of the Thermomix? Especially since the contact area for the heating is so small and the max temp is relatively low.
@JannyThermoCrazy
@JannyThermoCrazy 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Naraku1987, Thanks for your question. The sautéed onions in this recipe are not meant to be browned. There are other great recipes available that do this. Check out cookidoo and all the “high heat” collections. There is one just for onions 🧅😊 The way this works is really clever. The blades stop turning to give the food enough time to contact the hot surface (about 160 c). Then they “shuffle” the onions around again in a way they bring the top ones to the bottom and vice versa. I have a video here where we make a grazing platter and caramelised onions. I’ll find you the link 😊

Oops sorry for the late reply... yes, you can absolutely make your own recipes in a TM6. Like any other models you can use the functions all manually and use the basic cook book that comes with it to learn how to “translate” your recipes into Thermomix-language... You can’t, though, get your own recipes “guided” on the machine.

What happens if you omit an ingredient or add more/less of an ingredient or add something new? Will it still move forward or stop?
@JannyThermoCrazy
@JannyThermoCrazy Жыл бұрын
You are in control of every recipe and what you put in. You can substitute ingredients to your liking or dietary requirements. Absolutely no problem. You can go backwards in the recipe and repeat steps or you can skip forward. The only exemption is when you are using high heat… that’s when it’s required you stick to the weight. That’s for safety reasons and best results. You’ll be pleased to hear that cookidoo will soon allow to adjust recipe quantities 😊

Hi Raye, you can’t change the recipe instructions on cookidoo. What you can do though is increase the amount of cooking in your bowl and in your Varoma. There is only one important rule, that when it comes to cooking, don’t go over the maximum filling line inside the bowl! If you increase the volume, simply check the ingredients after the given cooking time and if they are not “done” just go back and either repeat the step or just increase by a few minutes. I usually enhance my meat dishes with lots of vegetables steamed on top in the Varoma (steaming unit). However, if you think the volume still isn’t enough, how about making some dinner rolls beforehand and just chop up a quick beetroot or broccoli salad in 5 seconds and have two extra dishes to fill more bellies? Look at this delicious recipe I found on Cookidoo®: Broccoli salad cookidoo.com.au/recipes/recipe/en-AU/r68694 Look at this delicious recipe I found on Cookidoo®: Beetroot salad cookidoo.com.au/recipes/recipe/en-AU/r490443 Look at this delicious recipe I found on Cookidoo®: Basic bread rolls cookidoo.com.au/recipes/recipe/en-AU/r488859

Can i use veg stock jelly instead of veg paste
@JannyThermoCrazy
@JannyThermoCrazy 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Graham, I’m not too sure about the “salty ness” of the jelly. With the vegetable stock paste (which is a concentrate) we use about 1 tablespoon to make 500 ml liquid vegetable stock. So depending on the ratio to make liquid vege stock out of your jelly - I’d say this will also work, just might need to be a bit more? (Makes sense?) otherwise just use your jelly and season with normal salt to taste :-)

What is the plastic pots like the steaming basket made of? Does any parts contain BPA Teflon PFOA or PTFE? What chemicals are in it. Is the maim pot and blade stainless steel. Is it food grade stainless steel? What quality stainless steel. What is the warranty? This is for the 6 most recent model in Canada. Sent from my iPad
@JannyThermoCrazy
@JannyThermoCrazy 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kathy, Thanks for asking. Here are some more info about the plastic parts being used in the Thermomix. (And yes, the bowl is made from food grade stainless steel). Since you seem to be in Canada (please note I’m in Australia) please reach out to www.thermomix.ca/ for more local information in your case e.g. warranty. Thermomix Plastics - BPA information * The plastic parts in the Thermomix are made from Type 5 polypropylene. * Polypropylene containers do not leach harmful chemicals into foods or liquids.
* Polypropylene is commonly in containers for yoghurt, medicine, drinks, and ketchup. * Type 5 plastic is flexible, hard and semi-transparent and has high resistance to solvents. The manual states that all of the plastic parts are made of high quality, food grade plastic. Service confirmed that the quality is to European standards - not Australian. The European standards are much higher than the Australian requirements. "On BPA, Vorwerk have undertaken independent testing by the Rhineland Technical Monitoring Authority (TUV Rheinland) to ensure that there is no transference. Thermomix carries the food-proof mark and complies with European and FDA Food Safety Standards." Thermomix is the German engineered brilliance from Vorwerk, a family-owned company which has been in existence since 1883. The Thermomix has been produced for more than 50 years. The TM6 is a the 6th generation Thermomix and is assembled in France.

Hi Beata, It is possible to cook without the blades moving… In saying that, that’s not the principle of the Thermomix cooking, BUT it is possible when using the built in cooking modes. Eg the egg boiler mode, which does not use the blades. I’m curious what it is you’d like to make in a Thermomix that doesn’t require blades?

Hi Sharon, I can say wholeheartedly YES to your question! I have witnessed hundreds of times how a Thermomix investment has helped families saving money on their grocery bills in my over 7 years of doing this. On average a family of 4 saves between $50 -$100 per week on groceries. This means their investment returns usually around the 7 months mark. From that point their Thermomix is actually making them money. Even more so for those who are currently seeking a second income and join our business.
