Sanjay Rath belongs to a traditional family of astrologers from Bira Balabhadrapur Sasan village of Puri, Orissa, which trace their lineage back to Shri Achyuta Das (Sri Achyutananda). His grandfather, the late Pandit Jagannath Rath, was the Jyotish Ratna of Orissa and authored many books on Jyotish.

Check the planet which has the highest degree i.e atmakaraka. Now this planet is seen in navamsa. The sign in which this planet sits in navamsa becomes karakamsa . Now 12th from this is the ishta devta. So suppose the atmakaraka is jupiter, see its postion in navamsa. Suppose it is in virgo in navamsa. So 12th from virgo is leo i.e 5 . So planet in leo sign shows your ishta. If it is vacant then depending on the sign, isht is decided. So leo sign is represented by lord ram. Moon shows krishna. Mangal is rudra or hanuman.mercury is vishnu. Like that u should see.

@@missmisfit70 although mercury is associated with vishnu, i think mars in gemini will make rudra or hanuman i.e shiva as gemini is air sign and both rudra and hanuman are related to air. Also ardra nakshatra falls in gemini and it belongs to rudra. So u can do rudrabhishek to lord shiva..this is my opinion and i can b wrong. So Pls take a second opinion.
