My worst birthday was when l was diagnosed with Cancer 5 days to my birthday. I spent my actual birthday getting so many blood tests done, not knowing the extent of it and thinking that was it. I am dying. They should be some form of counselling btw before the Doctor reads out the diagnosis😭😭 l went crying on the road like a mad women. God in heaven, l love you so much, you are amazing because l have gone on to celebrate many more magnificent birthdays after that. So yes, l do not take birthdays or celebrations for that matter for granted. Life can end any time. Growing old is a blessing, l lost two best friends through a tragic car accident at the age of 22 years old😭😭One of them was cremated guys, went to visit her mum after that and my friend was in a pot, in ashes, in the sitting room🙆🏾‍♀️🙆🏾‍♀️🙆🏾‍♀️. Weeeuh Hugs for next week Lydia, (I suppose it’s always bitter sweet)l love you.

This episode has been triggering to me… 😢😢growing up, we were 7 kids and my mum never did anything for me, she had her favourites who she celebrated but for the rest of us, nothing, it was just another day, and she pushed it off if you mentioned its your birthday. So for the longest time, it was just another day until i met my boyfriend. He always makes the day special with the simplest of things. Thank God for him❤. 🎉To anyone struggling just do the simple things that you can afford and fill your heart on this day🎉

I legit laugh-cried with Lydia when she said she thought she was okay... I never celebrated birthdays growing up and it just didn't fit the bill and was not a thing for both my parents. However, I went to schools where kids celebrated birthdays and I got invited to some and I swore my kids will KNOW their birthdays... I also promised myself my birthdays but not as much as I promised for my kids. Birthdays are very much a thing for me... I do something for my birthdays but for my son who is 7 men!! do I go out. Literally feel like I would die if it passed by without a thing and cake. My son's birthday is three weeks before mine and I would rather go without...birthdays are just special ...like I came to this world on such a day , like I got to hold you in my arms for the first time a day like today, like this special person in my life got to exist a day like today...Just special...I am turning 30 this year and oh boy, I'm I dreaming of it😍😍

owls' "superstitions" have been 100% accurate in my life. When my grandma passed on it hooted for a week and stopped the Sunday morning that she passed on. For my grandfather's sister it hooted for two days, and she passed on the morning of the last night's hoot. My cousin also heard an owl and the following day their landlord passed on (to her those were unrelated events. I'm the one who told her about owls and deaths). There are numerous similar stories, and they have always fascinated me. Mind you hearing an owl hoot is soo rare and yet.. once googled and found that a tribe in South America believes owls escort people into the afterlife. FYI before my grandma's passing away i'd have easily disregarded the stories as superstitions. our ancestors were however very in tune with nature and somehow knew these things.

Coming from a household that didn’t celebrate birthdays,I changed that norm around when i turned 20s,I always take myself out on a date and buy myself a gift. It don’t matter if no one celebrates you hunnie,celebrate your damn self💜you deserve it baby girl. Also Thea’s something about turning 30,I had a lil age anxiety buh trust me when I say it gets better.Ain’t nothing better like living life on your terms despite societal pressure and expectations!!

March 2 is my birthday. Walking into 30 with ease and joy and expecting the best. My twenties were the ghetto 😭😂 nie ma! I collected toxic men, I made very questionable, problematic, controversial decisions especially my early 20s. It's like I was living outside my body 😭. Turning 30 already feels different. Good different. 29 I was more settled and sure of myself. I can imagine how 30 is. Halafu Murugi and I share a birthday, it doesn't get better than that. #piscesseason

Great convo Ladies! @Jo, get rid of that scale. It is a thief of joy and builds anxiety. Let your clothes do the telling of your weight management/progress for you. I’m sure you also know that you could be as light as a bird and still not be healthy inside your body. Please just try this for like a month. I believe your anxiety around food will also reduce. The enemy here is that weighing scale

First murugi's voice 😍 Also, I turned 31 on 20th February. Age anxiety is real 😥😥. Its not so much about getting older itself but its more of the fact that for some of us birthdays are triggering because they are a reminder that we are getting older and we are nowhere near where we would like to be. Also hugs lyd, I can relate about painful events happening around a birthday and the memories of that. In 2018, on February 1st ( 19 days to my 26th birthday), I found out during my cousin's funeral ( he died of cancer) that my mom died ( suicide). So the next few birthdays after that were hard. Hugs again Lyd. #piscesgang

Wow,,,,,birthdays are a thing in my family though we never have cakes,,,,its just coz honestly we kind of can't afford it. We prepare special meal ,,,, we treat the birthday person as special that day like no house chores though no gifts 😂 . Our youngest now is 21 and mum still calls us to remind us to call the birthday person.

I used to get triggered by my birthday😳 because my family always made it feel special 🎉 then 💣 nothing anymore. Turns out it's because my elder sister went far away for high school🙆. When I turned 18 they happened to come visit me at my aunts' (we share birthdays) during half-term and abruptly threw a party for us. Best experience ever. Now I'm going into every birthday knowing just because they don't do something doesn't mean they don't value it and want to celebrate it😄💕. I love that no spite is accompanied by birthday anymore and just that is enough. Happy birthday to you lovely Queens ❤
