As the Wizard said to the Tin Man, a heart is not measured by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others. By that yardstick, Bob Uecker had a big, big heart.
@SchofieldAJ7 күн бұрын
Yep his heart went all way from foul territory to way up in the cheap nose bleed seats as he didn't care if you were rich or barely getting by, by taking a friend or family member to a game he treated every single person as equals nobody better than anyone else.

RIP Bob, Mr. Baseball. I loved his everything I saw him do. His Carson appearances, the commercials, and he was "chef's kiss" PERFECT in Major League. He made those game scenes so special, especially, the last one. I can almost quote every word as he's saying them. There will never be anyone close to him in baseball broadcasting. But he was so self deprecating. Yes, he didn't have the best stats, but think of how many millions of people want and try to make it to the majors. Some even make farm teams, but never get the call. HE DID! He won a championship as well.

I just love hearing about former child stars and how they just adored the father (or adult) cast members. Hearing how Tracey felt about Bob reminded me of how hard the cast of 8 Simple Rules took it when John Ritter passed away. I know there are other exampkes, but that was the first one that came to mind!!

Not a baseball fan so never knew or followed that part of legacy, knew him from Mr Belvedere and his WrestleMania cameos. Would see through years him on Carson and other interviews, etc, and just came across as such a humble, a good person who you could laugh with and just enjoy time. Has there ever been any story of him being mean to someone or anything on any level. Just a good man

I remember this show. Bob Uecker as always was brilliant, funny, enjoyable, and so caring. Bob Uecker was such an unique and incredibly special person. He may have never been a 40 homerun a year player, or a movie star like Tom Cruise, or a TV star like Tim Allen, but he was in my opinion a far better person in that he always had time for people. When I was a boy I used to attend Brewers games with my Mom and Dad. This was back in the late 70's. 1978, 79, 80, 81, and of course 1982! After games some of us kids would go outside of 🏟County🏟Stadium🏟 and we'd wait by the player's parking lot. Quite a few players were extremely nice and signed autographs for us. But one man always seemed to make time for us, and he was Bob Uecker. I was so Blessed to have had the HONOR to have met Mr.Uecker. I have some wonderful childhood memories of Milwaukee County Stadium and the Brewers, but meeting Bob Uecker is right at the top and deservedly so. Sometimes as fans we can take for granted having such an iconic, dedicated, loyal, and faithful person that we've listened to for decades. I can remember being so excited back in 1978-1982 every spring. Spring Training, which meant ⚾️Baseball⚾️Games⚾️! And of course that meant Bob Uecker on the 📻🎙radio🎙📻!! This spring will be very tough, difficult, and filled with extreme sadness and pain. This will be the first time in my entire life that I won't turn on the 📻radio📻 and I won't hear Mr.Uecker calling the games. I apologize for the long comment, but Bob Uecker was beyond special. Not just to me, but to millions and millions of people worldwide. His iconic, "Get up, get up, GET OUTTA HERE GONE! A HOME RUN!!" has been heard by generations of fans. I only "knew" Mr.Uecker from my autograph days as a young boy, but again he always had time for us. He never was rude, or even the slightest bit harsh at all. If he needed to get home or needed to get going and he couldn't sign autographs for as many kids, he always told us kids in a really nice way. All of my memorabilia sadly was lost, some stolen, but one thing nobody could ever take, steal, or lose are those memories. Those moments when I was able to meet many of my sports heroes. Some kids didn't worry about people who weren't "Brewers players", but I said it then and I'll say it now, Bob Uecker was, is, and ALWAYS WILL BE A MILWAUKEE BREWER! One of, if not the MOST ICONIC AND LEGENDARY MAN in Milwaukee. Thank you Mr.Uecker for being a part of my childhood, my teenage years, my 20's, my 30's, my 40's, and my 50's. You've been a part of my life for my entire life and you made it a much better place. God Bless you Mr.Uecker and your family. I know your now calling games up there. Thank you again for your dedication, your kindness, and your love for Baseball and it's fans. Bob Uecker we love you, we'll miss you, and we THANK YOU!
