I think Kazuya is where he is because when he's getting his way he feels so destructive, that it kind of overshadows how hard it can be to get someone in that position in people's minds. You can be moments from death, land a rage drive or EWGF and it's over. It's just a natural bias people have when it comes to characters that make you pay so hard for mistakes, that and his EWGF having the pressure, punishing, tracking and recovery it does. If you have arguably the best move in the game it's easy to think he has to be at least high-mid.

Its all about the hellsweep. Even if you nerfed the guy 10 other different ways, he would still have an unseeable launching low that grants a strong combo. That move alone will forever make it hard for him to be any less than mid tier. If the move is ever blocked, it means either 1 of 2 things. 1. A lucky crouch guard that probably wont happen again. Or 2, the person using it is being way too predictable with it and should probably loose the match anyway.

Some Very Powerful Important Tools that DVJ lacks compared to other characters no Magic 4/B1, No +Frames Pressure, No Basic Hopkick (U4 -34 lol), Worst Orbital (UF4), Worst Rage Drive, Poor Tracking on Most Moves, Weakest Mids in the Game to kill his 50/50 Game, Lowest Combo Damage in the game, Limited Moveset makes him Predictable. The thing that kills him the most is he has no threatening Safe Mid in a game where characters have Kaz FF3, Feng DF3, Bryan/Leroy Orbitals Safe Normal Hit Launchers Just revert DVJ UF4 nerf and he will be fine

Claudio doesnt need a proper df1 because b3 does the job for it, i13 mid and also a knee which isnt parryable, this move is hard to step when you play bigger characters too, and it has an extension which launches on CH

-13 low seems to be super rare nowadays uf3 -9 ff3 frame 20 (and come from a dash but thanks god its -3 force crouch) df4 -9 db2 -9 (frame 20) db4 frame 20 +4 (+ no crush) so he has to give his turn after everything except ewgf, he has no poking he can only do df2 (-12 on block) df4 (-9 on block) to be sure to have his turn after db4 connect, hellsweep is not homing and -23 on block

@@takasquad1391 Frames is when players start getting too ahead of themselves on what matters in an actual match. Frames absolutely matter and should be studied seriously if you want to enter serious competition. But actually timing out the moves and having an acute understanding of the space you are occupying vs your opponent matters *Way* more than whether or not your character has a 13 frame mid. Most top level players aren't even using a 13 frame mid until the very end of the round after they've won their big exchanges off of a sidestep, counterhit, backdash situation-confirm whiff punish. Pokes only come into it at the very start of the round, a comeback, or at the very end of the round. Poking in the middle of a round for no reason gets every character killed against an opponent, not just Kazuya who does have weaker poking. 13-15 never matters unless it's a standup, in-the-pocket and not the neutral exchange. If it's not that moment specifically, it's totally fine for a character to not have a 13 frame easy peasy mid because it's only a single situation out of millions of potential interactions within just a few seconds of gameplay.

Kazuya has some of the best damage in the game, best punishment in the game, a better 50/50 than most the cast, and his movement isn’t terrible. Devil Jin has terrible damage, bad 50/50, and below average poking. His strengths are pretty much only his hellsweep and being an all rounded character. I’d also like to add that kazuya has the best electric out of the mishimas, and gets more value from his 112 than devil jin does. Devil jins few strengths, kazuya over shines. How can anyone actually argue devil jin isnt worse than kazuya?

Kazuya has some of the worst poking in the game, no fast, safe CH launchers, risky homing moves, and totally lacks any good panic buttons, in a game where having all of those weaknesses is a major liability. Devil Jin has pretty good poking (I don't know why you say it's below average) and his 50/50, though not as strong as Kazuya's, is nonetheless pretty decent, notwithstanding the nerf to u/f+4. He also, unlike Kazuya, has relatively fast, safe mid CH launchers in d/f+2 and b+4, and doesn't have to take big risks to shut down lateral movement, thanks to Laser Cannon. He can also very reliably shake off pressure with his u+4 and d+1. About the only advantages that Kazuya has over Devil Jin are in his crouching block punishment, 50/50 and damage, and those things in my opinion just aren't enough to even place Kazuya on an even footing relative to Devil Jin, much less make Kazuya the stronger character.

Nah, Miguel is straight up good as hell. His only mark IMO is that he doesn't have an advancing stance or great advancing moves. And at the highest level of competition, that might be the most important trait for a character to possess deadass. Having to claw for forward positioning with Miguel every single set takes so much mental energy that Wavu, Feng's roll dashes, Steve duck in, Kuni dash save you from having to deal with. Miguel has that awesome forward forward 3 but it's a high and much easier to telegraph than something like Claudio Superman which has more benefit (Starburst) and is easier to mix within the confines of Claudio's movelist.

Devil Jin has the Worst Execution to Reward Ratio in the Game. His Inputs require Major Precision inputs. ELECTRIC, iWS, Wavedash into iWS, On Normal Hit, He has the Worst Mids in the Game, 24 DmG and you lose your turn due Pushback (B4, UF4, FF2) as well as the Worst Combo Damage in the Game. As a result HellSweep is very very overrated now. DVJ cannot get any Real damage without taking Major Risks. Block his Hellsweep ONCE and he dies. iWS 2 locked behind Execution and still Unsafe at -12 for 50 Combo Dmg.. if you can even perform the iWS input Reliably (most players cannot)

I think I agree with you on that part that Arslan is Tekken 7 best player but you also need to understand that Arslan doesn't have the facility of competing in other Tekken events and lower Tekken volumes because of visa issues and Pakistan won't facilitate him that much. I am from Pakistan too so I know. TMM do know and watch tournaments but he seems to lack knowledge about stuff such as tournament stress and the importance of block punishment which is why he couldn't understand Kazuya's placement in that tier list,just one example out of many things. sometimes weaker characters tend to be alot more reliable in their combos or punishment or even movement that's also why they can get away with an A tier even though they're clearly flawed. i think stuff like this cannot really make a diffrence in online which is why i said what i said

@@Omega_Star_ Sure, I don't disagree to that. Which is why it's so important to have the reasonings available, dunno why TMM didnt check Arslans video before responding to it, seems a bit weird. These lists are impossible to make with high accuracy anyways, too many variables and personal experience, hence why most tier lists are different, even though the top and low tier characters seems to have settle. Also, a tier list for tournament should be different from deathmatches.

Yea, agree with Yoshi being B tier….. his oki isn’t as forceful as Kazuya’s, but you can really get creative and play different mind games. That with all his other strengths make him very viable in T7…. Eyemusician would be winning a lot if could participate

Kaz is strong. His 50 50 is actually good and can be sidestepped yes, but you have b4 and ws3 (Not much of a payoff outside of walls). The waivu ws2 isnt as great option in my opinion and you can die. His rage drive is good, ducks under highs and does a good amount of damage and transforms him to devil mode, you know, the guy with a mid electric, strong hellsweep and a f4 full combo followup even though you rarely see him. His damage is insane obviously, the highest damaging mishima. Electric is good like the other mishimas but i belive his is better and its the best move in the game, he also has a 13 frame ws launcher and 13 frame punish if youre good with perfect electric. Db4 is a great low, his punishment is good overall. Sure he's bad at poking, a bad neutral and sidesteppable but he makes up for in punishment (he can launch on 13 frames which not many characters can do), damage, good 50 50 if you know how to use it properly considering he's steppable, good oki, devil mode and rage drive. Basically he only needs one opportunity and the opponent dies. And also his combeack potential is insane, top 10 if not top 5 at least. He isnt as bad as you all make him to be and there has to be a reason pro players place him that high and devil jin that low. Forgot also that busted 112 which mishimas have, a 10 frame knockdown into vortex.

Ws3 is useless. Super slow and can be reacted to by good players. Easily fuzziable as well. Ws1+2 and db4 are the go to options against sidewalks but they're both inconsistent and sometimes won't hit a stepping opponent. B1 also exists, but again is very inconsistent with it's tracking. The only consistent options he has against steps is df2 which is -12 and ws2 which is hard to do and also -18.

Kazuya is not strong which is why he got 24 new moves in T8 only buffs.. If you think T7 kazuya is strong then prepare for hell in T8

Sorry TMM, but I have to disagree with you on Kazuya being bad. He has a i14 CH Launcher in df2, f4, PEWGF, WS4, Twin Pistons, ff2, db2, ff4, b1,2, 1,1,2, df3, db4, hellsweep which leads to disgusting oki, ff3, and not to mention... *Vortex* Sure...Kazuya does have terrible poking, and is very linear...I get that, but he doesn't need a i13 df1 when he has WS4 and df4 which can be confirmed with the 4 extension after, the only caviet is that it's -15 on block, but used on it's own is a good poke.

Ws4 is only 14f if done absolutely perfectly which won't be the case for most attempts, and df4 is a terrible poke. -8 on block and +3 on hit. The follow-up is minus on hit and launch punishable on block. It doesn't even give anything on CH.

I'm aware you lose your turn on block, but it's a decent enough poke if you land it on hit, and it does 26 damage, so despite it not being all that great...it's a pretty decent poke. Also hit confirmable. WS4 on the other hand is a lot better and more + on hit, and is -3 on block, so although you lose your turn...you're at a much better advantage compared to df4.

"my main isn't that good" kind of thing. he has a sick vortex, the 50 50 is about actually committing the hellsweep and if kazuya is really good at not making it obvious it's just so hard to play against him because of his very dangerousmind games or just other good moves like electrics, mid launchers or just combo damage. he aint zafina or paul but dont tell people the character isn't B tier ffs xD but I agree with everything else u said in the vid

I think Claudio is in top 5 because he has the best space control in the game and strong keepout, his pokes are slower, but if you're patient you can easily find an opening with claudio, especially with his crazy UF4.

It would genuinely be cool to know f(especially from the Mishima players themselves) why DJ is rated bottom 10 even if he is still much more safe than Kazuya, in a game where safety and ease of use is so highly valued (I do know that his 50/50 is basically gutted now because of "that update") It's been forever since I have played against Mishima characters (vanilla Jin does not count) that I cannot really form an opinion on this matter for myself One thing I am only only sure of now is that DJ is no longer a very good character

dj has trash mids, risky 50/50, no easy plus frames, trash ch (b4 is slow, no magic 4, df2 is linear and is bad on whiff) and besides the overpowered mishima stuff like 112 electric hellsweep, he lacks a super dumb move (preferrably a mid) that just really makes a character stand out (leo d1, steve flk 2/qcf1, jin f4, paul df2, claudio b1, hei ff2, kazuya ff4). On top of everything else he's just as hard to play as the other mishimas while having easily the worst moveset.

Naahhh arslan nailed it minus steve and Claudio placement - I think He was referring to tournament usage AND if we're talking about THAT then Bryan and Kaz and Leo are absolutely placed right. The only god level Bryan players that make any impact are Knee and Jimmy sooo who are the God level Bryan's you're referring to ? Plus Those characters are legacy which means nothing they do is a surprise and everyone knows how to react to them... every Bryan/Kaz/ etc gets booted 3 matches into the tournament because God level players are Playing the broken mfs he has in A+ rank which turn God level players into invincible players. Arslan said in his video that people create tier lists based on their community. Thats why his tier list is probably based on Pakistan, just like Knee's list was mainly based on Korea, he even differentiates between PS4 and PC ... that's why people shouldnt be too mad about tier lists if they dont agree with it, it's all subjective and educated guesses. At the end of the day what matters most is the skill of the player.

I'm just gonna say that mainman was right in everything he said about kazuya and devil jin, you guys are correct about kazuya's punishment and damage but those things heavily rely on execution and most people won't be able to do it, but on paper, kazuya DOES have it so that's something.
