Tifa's story overlaps with Cloud's quite a bit in FF7 - she's very supportive throughout the game with helping Cloud come to terms with the reality of who he is. She also shows her bravery often by partnering with Avalanche & even some scenes where she pursues the main antagonist of the game on her own. Overall she's really cool and has a great story in ff7, having her in tekken would be sick. That being said Clive is a fantastic character as well, and his story in FF16 is right up there with the greats of the FF series. Cool to see him in tekken, just feels like he's a soul calibur character with tools that just cover so many options at once (not saying they wouldn't make tifa pretty strong out the gate to potentially boost sales as well, it is what it is).

Clive is great marketer. Made me want to play ff16. Then its mediocre open world made me play witcher3, then its weak horseback riding made me play red dead redemption 2, then its lack of fantasy made me play elden ring. So I don’t play tekken 8 anymore 😊

Played ff7 a lot as a kid and i agree that Tifa wouldn't add much to tekken other than fanservice for horny gamers. Her character is basically....emotional support. Which would not fit in any context outside of the game. She's not a character that could stand on her own and make sense.

Tifa could very much be the protagonist I her own game. I can tell you're lying about playing FF7 because you think the only people who want her are horny & you're trying to be holier than thou. He hates at least half of the Tekken cast & even with the characters he likes, they share properties that make him hate the other characters. Take Asuka & Lili, he hates them 'they are anime' but Kazuya & Heihachi not only do they have hair that'll make a DBZ character blush but they are also anime archetypes. He also takes every chance he can get to say he doesn't watch anime, so what does he think he means when he calls something anime if he doesn't know what anime is? The only other game he plays is Dead By Daylight & it seems to me that game has a lot of players but no fans & he's even talked about how miserable it makes him feel but he still plays it anyway.
