I love that Jin actually loses in the first chapter. He actually doesn't have plot armour at the start of the game, because if you remember in T7...Jin was reduced to a plot device and was very weak from killing Azazel in T6. So seeing him weaker is actually a nice change of pace imo. This establishes how dangerous and powerful Kazuya is, even when Jin briefly has control of the devil's power and tries to defeat Kazuya...Kazuya just shrugs it off the entire time 😂. So Jin will most definitely be getting stronger throughout the story.

I think Jin still having his clothes is just his consciousness like seeing the Devil gene, etc. But in reality, he is top less because he turned into a devil before he got defeated by Kazuya.

The game gives very clear advantage to Jin here, - Giving him rage early, just need to perform certain moves - Allowing him to auto-reverse some low attacks - Giving him the abilitiy to absorb and deflect Kazuya's lasers (He has 3 followups) - Giving him extra string. 1,1 into Heaven's door. 2 into second hit of b+1,2 -He has followups that would otherwise require Heat to be performed Despite all that, lorewise, he got recked here.

Lorewise he gets wrecked? In Base he consistently bested Base Kazuya at literally every turn. Makes sense he will lose in their Devil forms cause he is having mental blocks and Kazuya has far better control of the power As for Kazuya not taking damage,makes sense,he has withstood a volcano,was reconstructed etc. He has more durability than Jin but in base Jin is better albeit its still a good fight.

Jin wiped the Hon-Maru floors with both Kazuya and Heihachi's faces in their first fight, spared their lives and proceeded to stop a world ending threat twice. Maybe Kazuya has an edge at the beginning because he just finished battling Heihachi to the death and then Akuma while Jin was sleep the entirety of T7. And like the above mentioned, Jin's lack of control over his Devil form was a major handicap. The fact that this man is nonchalantly sinking in the ocean after taking a city sized laser blast from Kazuya kinda says enough, for me at least.

I appreciated the balance of eastern/western in the way early Tekken presented itself but now the modern titles are leaning more toward the insanity of the series. I'm sure this will be alot of people's first or second Tekken game so its funny to picture what they're thinking of the series as a whole when seeing all of it.

Idk if I would talk that bad about TTT1. Of course it sold way less as Tekken 3 as it was a launch title for the PS2, so there was a way lower hardware base as for Tekken 3, but everyone loved the game and the critics were great. Same is probably gonna happen with Tekken 8. PS5/XSX have a WAY LOWER base as PS4/XboxOne as Tekken 7 were released. Tekken 8 might wont sell that good in the beginning. Same happened with Final Fantasy 16 that sold less good as Final Fantasy 15 but everyone sees how much better FF16 is

My take on what is happening: Kazuya powered up a lot since his losses and is far in greater union with the Devil Gene which was what made him powerful enough to defeat Heihachi in 7, Jin hates the Devil Gene and usually when he uses it he has no "sync" with it differently from Kazuya, plus this leads to him always losing control of his devil mode, the conclusion is that Tekken 8 is probably a story of Jin coming to terms with his shortcomings (as shown by him talking with Alisa at one moment were i expect he will apologize for the things he did) while also understanding that (maybe but this is what i believe will happen) that he can work together with his Devil to win against Kazuya, but that doesnt mean he has to be "Evil" for it.

Let's not quickly judge the Story Mode that early before the game has been released. Having little to no interactions while going straight into battles isn't that good either. It needs to be in the middle. Also, who's to say that the T7 Journalist might actually appear in the Story Mode after all? By technicality, this is pretty much considered to be a Prologue rather than the first chapter, lmao.

They simply dont show blood etc in Tekken,even when Heihachi died in 7 he had ZERO blood on him,just dirt.
