Man I cannot thank you enough. I am a factory tech for LG Electronics. I came in the game green I have been here for about five years now, but I've never heard anyone thouroughly break down amd explain alot of this stuff. I'm good enough to do a pretty good job in the field but this thorough explanation in your videos just takes it to a whole nother level. I appreciate you

Microwave starts, runs for about second. Light, turntable, magnetron all start. Then after a second shuts off. Display says XXXX for a few seconds and then 0. For a while it would do this intermittently, but now all the time so can't use. Possible problem?

I always press stop before opening the door to help protect the primary door switch. The relay on the control board is more resilient than the primary door switch. My mother kept going through primary door switches. I noticed it was because she was constantly opening the door to stop the high voltage side. This arcs the primary switch and leads to early failure.

Very informative. I watched most of this video and I have a better understanding of how my Samsung microwave works now. It just failed on me and I am thinking it's the secondary interlock switch that is faulty. I ordered new door switches a few days ago and also got a 5 pack of new fuses too ( just in case ) I'm sure the fuse is good but if I blow it changing a part, then I've got a few spares. The microwave doesn't count down, it doesn't turn the table and the magnetron is not running. It does have a light on the inside and a light humming noise when I open the door. It won't heat, no turn table and no cound down. Would I be correct to say that it's likely the secondary interlock door switch? I am hoping to change the switches out tonight.

What a teacher, I wish I had some one with your enthusiasm to teach back in my day, I had placed a mental blockage on electrical items that never worked , well most items that needed electricity to run , due to not understanding it and thought well ` its dangerous and if I will never mess with it then no need to learn about it, how wrong I was, The trouble now I fix allot of stuff mechanically don`t like to throw anything away, but get stuck testing electrical items, its like my brain will not hold information when it comes to using electrical testing equipment to use on components, I just can not get it to sink in. This becomes so frustrating, 70% of stuff would get trashed because I cannot test the electric side of the components or item, I for several years still can not remember how or when I should test for open circuit ,close circuit, test a loop, test for leakage, test for earth because I can`t remember how or what setting the dial needs to be set to on my instruments and what instrument I should be using to test my appliance., or when AC might get changed to DC with a component down the line in a electrical piece or vicar versa. I learned how to work out ohms law in 20 minutes and forgot it 2 days after.my brain just refuses to remember this stuff , even though I want to, Its almost like one side of me wants and need to learn and the other side just stops me , I am now in my 50`s and all i know is how AC and DC runs along the wire, and what a capacitor and a starter motor and a resistor is, but I do not know how to measure them because I don`t understand how to, Is there a known condition that I may suffer from or have I just excepted from my teen days to teach my brain never to remember neither bother understand electrics and now its to late for me to trick the mind into wanting to understand,? I have been so fixed on your vid`s because I understand what you explain while watching but will forget it 20 minutes later. One thing I need to know, As I live in the UK England our electricity is 240. well might be 230 v _ and + 10 % either way now, Does this send 230 v to my transformer and if so do I set my volt meter to 500 v AC when testing the transformer with the two probes at the connectors. ?

14:08 - That’s his left hand! At first, I thought he found a left handed screw in this microwave; but, then I realized 16:17 he’s showing an inverse video shot of this machine! Ha! 18:34 - Even his meter is backward!

The service manual is correct with testing the magnetron I’ve found my faulty. It’s good testing diode, magnetron and capacitor. If those are good then the transformer is bad which is the only testing that varies by the manufacturers
