TMNT NECA Donatello (The Dark Turtle) Review and Discussion Fred Wolf LootCrate 4

In this video I review NECA's Dark Turtle action figure and discuss his one animated appearance. I discuss the items in NECA's 4th 2022 LootCrate. Scrag isn't reviewed in this one. I'll discuss him along with the rest of Bebop and Rocksteady's Gang.

Hey, thanks for reaching out! No, I’m not done! I just got hit with project after project over the last three months. I’m all caught up now so I’m back to working on videos. I’m currently trying to wrap up a review I made for both the 1993 and 1994 Playmates universal monster/Tmnt toys. After that I’ll finish either my Mirage Zog or Fred Wolf bebop and rocksteady gang members reviews. After that I’m not sure what to do next, I have so many Neca toys piled up in boxes that I haven’t opened yet to talk about, I may try to go through the Fred Wolf toys first. Great video as always. I just rewatched your neca TMNT turtles in disguise video. In the comments that we all left, you comment on mine saying you were going maybe do I think a 2021 TMNT cartoon line accessories set and show the screenshot of the Rocksteady wanted poster from the cartoon. I know! I fee a little overwhelmed. I had to take some time off to work on some freelance projects, but I have nothing lined up at the moment. I’m currently working on a Playmates Universal Monster/Tmnt review and then after that I’ll move on to Zog or the Bebop and Rocksteady Gang members. Both of those I started already. After that there’s so much to cover!

Lootcrate absolutely sucks. Dark Don and the Easter Goons seem fine cuz they’re variants of existing characters but Scrag has no other representation in the line AT ALL. New characters should never be locked behind weird, 3rd party, tchotchke preorder subscriptions. Really hate everything about this lootcrate stuff.

Some speculate and hope that NECA will get around the whole loop hole of not re-releasing Loot Crate exclusives with giving us another Scrag. Rules are forever changing, not to mention they could give us a different one this time with the original prototype head sculpts, since both of those got changed to be more show accurate with the final product. I'm just glad that I got mine from Loot Crate, then ended up paying a bit of a hefty price on eBay to get a second one shortly there after. So now I'm stuck with tryin' to figure out if I should display both versions of the gang, or sell an entire set since that's a lot of money.

​@@JC-dz5ur ​Yeah, it's literally the definition of an exclusive lol. I was watching a recent 3POA episode, and Bobby was going over the reasoning why companies need exclusives (which makes total sense). Tony got asked if all of that bothered him, and essentially it didn't, since it was something we've been dealing with since the '80s. And some markets get exclusive items, so it's not always as easy as sending in your proof of purchases. With the Loot Crate thing, there's no legitimate excuses you can make, cause it was an open pre-order for quite a while. If your brand spanking new to collecting, then sorry, that's the name of the game. All of that was talked about in that 3POA episode too. You gotta pay to play, and a lot of these newer and younger collectors are so goddamn entitled, they feel like they should be able to stroll in a Target anytime they want and grab the four brothers, or get whatever exclusive we've had for a while for the same cost we paid for it. I'm all for new collectors getting an opportunity to get stuff they missed on for a decent price, but some things should be left to being special...but only stuff like costume variants (even as Trevor has mentioned), and _not_ brand new characters like Scrag & Danny.
