Sadly it’s down for now as it cracked a support on the first corkscrew. Additionally I have used quickpass as when I went it was slammed on 12/29/23. shellraiser had only one car the entire day. Quickpass gets you on the next cycle and is very worth it. Additionally I never found this ride rough or rattly. Then again no rattle/roughness has bothered me personally besides thunderbolt at Luna park. Which is a horrendous ride and should be burnt down. The worst coaster ever.

I have not rode this version but I rode Takabisha last year. The first ride I kept my head back but it kept banging against the headrest. The second ride I leaned my head forward but it still kept banging against the headrest. The third ride I put my left hand behind my head against the headrest and kept it there during the whole ride. It was a much better ride experience when I did that.

If they removed the over the shoulder restraints they could use the time to re work some theming. There should be a tunnel either on the lift hill or launch themed to the sewer.

I wish, but I doubt the OTSRs leave.
@mrprobro5228 ай бұрын
It’s such a shame that this doesn’t have lap bars. I suppose that in order for Gerstlauer to replace the over the shoulder restraints with lap bars than they would have to have to remodel the trains. Even though it would require a major closure and extensive remodeling I think they should somehow find a way to replace the over the shoulder restraints with some sort of lap bars. I think if this thing had lap bars it would easily become the best ride in the park and probably one of the best Gerstlauer Eurofighters in the world. Not only would it eliminate all headbanging and roughness but it would also make the elements even better that 121 degree drop would become one of the worlds best drops.

I wish they'd re-design a Eurofighter train that can handle launches. It would help a few of their coasters if parks were interested.

Totally agree with your assessment. Shellraiser is a 9/10 layout marred by a mildly painful riding experience. I tend to think that enthusiasts overrate roughness on coasters, but Shellraiser’s reputation is sadly well-earned. I’ve no idea if they could slap lap-bar Infinity trains on this, but that would be amazing (though I’m sure NU would never spring for that investment).

I have not visited this park yet, because the unreliability of their rides makes me prefer to go to Great Adventure or go other places when I'm in the area. I would want their top 2 open if I go. Looking at the layout, I agree with you that it would be better to start with the lift, then have a mid-course launch. It's too bad that it's ridden rough from the start and has OTSR.

Gerstlauer makes some decent rides, don't get me wrong, but their constant issues regarding track roughness make me think they are a discount manufacturer of sorts. The fact the launch system cannot rescue itself is UNBELIEVABLE.

I heard it’s rough because of how they poured the cement floor up and over the footers and connections to the footers. Pretty dumb idea I bet eventually they’ll be failures at those spots…

The footers. The Rides supports just go into the floor, acting as 1 big footer. This is different from regular footers, which is why all the other Coasters are rough, as they use the floor for footers.

I'm pretty terrified of roller coasters, but TMNT is my favorite franchise of all time. I worship at the alter of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird and would give my left arm to have a TMNT rollercoaster with great theming because I love the franchise that much. Unfortunately, the theming in this ride is so lackluster that I would never ride it, even with TMNT's name slapped on it.

There's literally no excuse for a coaster this new to be this rough. When I rode it last year, I too got a headache and only rode it twice for the entire day. I give it a 5 because of this, no matter how good that drop and launch are. I mean how many millions did they pay for this? Why can Gerstlauer get away with providing such a poorly manufactured product?
@ethanshackleton8 ай бұрын
Given that an exact clone has operated for years without these issues, it’s unlikely to be Gerstlaur’s fault.
@teddym28088 ай бұрын
@@ethanshackleton That's just very unlikely, sorry. A lot of their coasters are shaky like this, and it ruins otherwise what would almost always be fantastic layouts. Takabisha is actually the exception, not the norm. Euro Fighters are almost all headbangers (or the lap bar ones would be headbangers if they had OTSR, so thank goodness for small mercies for a few of them). I have ridden pretty much all of them bar Krater and Serpent. And not only that, then there's their infinity coasters - fantastic pacing and layouts but shaky. Now even their brand new invert isn't smooth. Honestly the only Gerstlauer model I have found consistently smooth all over the world is the bobsled.

@@teddym2808Someone else left a comment saying that the footers at Nickelodeon Universe don’t go deep enough into the ground due to it being a mall. I believe this to be true. It is an oversight by the park but I don’t think the rattle ruins the experience.
