I would answer the question for 4. with "Absence of error fallacy" since that looks the most logic.

I am so confused why question 4 cannot be C. You are being told to catch "all the bugs", hence you are told that all the errors are going to be considered and so there are no more errors for you to find. That is impossible since absence of errors is a fallacy. You can never catch "all the bugs" since there are always more errors. Anyway "Absence of error fallacy" is derived from "Testing shows the presence of defects but not their absence" so if B works, so will C. I went with C because "Testing shows the presence of defects" is not a testing principle at all. You've to assume it actually means "Testing shows the presence of defects but not their absence" even though that's not stated this way. When they have a false testing statement "Root cause analysis", why not assume they put another?

I am confused with question number 3. In my opinion the defect is what is visible to the tester; and which is " input fields accept invalid input values" while " the improperly coded logic for the upper boundary check" is a root cause.

Agree with your point

Notice he didn't even bother trying to explain why root cause wasn't the correct answer

Isn't the answer for Q3 : The error?
@erikwilliams1562 Жыл бұрын
Considering what happened was the definition of error you'd think so, but the last part of the question is all that mattered. The rest was fluff

@TM SQUARE Why is the answer to the 4th question not under c but under b, is it possible to explain?
@TMSQUARETECH6 күн бұрын
Option B - It is principle which says that testing can't find all the defects so your manager should make a statement that find ALL the bugs Options C - is about fulfilling the requirements where the given question doesn't talk about meeting the requirements. You can watch the principle tutorial again for more details.

The answer to questions 3 and 4 are not very straightforward, C seems like a more logical answer to question 4.

Completely disagree, the objective of testing is to find defects. This is one of the principles. In the other hand quality assurance includes the activities to prevent the defects. For the question 2 the right answer should be rather C. I'm really thinking this questionaries/cetification is not being propely reviewed and is rather a big business. Most of the questions are subject to interpretation rather than being objective. Hopefully the new version has better quality questions (ironic).

First I don't appreciate your smug assumptions that things are straight forward and simple. If they were we wouldn't be here listening to you. second, several of these are very misleading, in particular 3 and 4. 3: could have easily been root cause (which you didn't mention why it isn't by the way) as if the improperly coded logic is the source of the defect - accepting invalid input 4: Boss wants you to catch all bugs, alright so on a miracle even if you manage that and there is no more bugs (like he requested) the absence of errors doesn't mean there are no errors. So yes, there is a need to step into the options there. Either teach and explain why without the smugness or shut up and let a competent teacher take over.
