I am bowled over with these jeans! Not only do I love, love, love them, but they solve a problem for me. The older I grow (ha ha) the wider I get. My waist is in a competition with my hips to get all the "attention." So I'll give my waist a pair of jeans that fits, and I can stop some of the pain of wearing jeans that fit everywhere but the waist. I love every detail of these jeans. My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, I took sewing all through high school, wanted to a be a fashion designer, well when I got to Hollywood, they were always grabbing me for a sample model or I ended up watching a show front for a real designer. I kept getting taken out of what I wanted to do, because , needed to make money to live on. So now your channel is so helpful, it reminde of details forgotten. Dear Traci, thank you SO much for doing a video for making jeans bigger! I was hoping that you would do that some day 😊 Now the only thing is to figure out how to make a skinny jeans this way but I guess it's just a matter of making the triangle so that the measurements from about the knee down to the bottom are way wider than when the jeans is straight or slightly flaired already. I have tons of too small skinny jeans so this will keep me busy for months 😂 I cannot thank you enough for all you learn us! ❣❣

❤Love this!❤ We used to do this in the 70's (yikes!). I forgot about this!!! I'd add a 2" piece all the way down. Starting at the knee, I'd add two triangles of fabric on each side of the gusset and make huge bell bottoms. My favorite pair was black (cotton) velvet inset, with lace and satin 'bells' and I hand beaded appliqué flowers cut from the lace all up the legs. Wore those for probably 5 years!😂 Edit: I made a pair using my dad's old ties. They fell apart fast, as in my youth, I never thought of sewing them on to other fabric for strength. I guess you could use scraps of any clothing fabric to do this?

If you work with it you can top stitch the leg all the way down the pants leg in one stretch. I used to make a lot of my own jeans and top stitched the legs all the time.
