Well, now I know what I'm making my for both of my daughters for make-mas (Christmas) this year! They both LOVE blankets and expect one every year, but since this year we decided on one purchased gift and one made gift, they can still get a blanket!!! So glad you're back too! When you're sewing little flimsy pieces together (like those adorable sunglasses for the cat), you can glue the pieces down with a school glue stick to keep them from slipping around. The glue will wash out because it's water soluble, and it shouldn't gum up your needle as long as the glue is dry when you sew. I use spray glue basting for quilting, and I haven't had a gummed up needle yet. Very cute jackets!

When I have small to downright tiny pieces to applique, I use a glue stick to adhere my pieces down then sew them on. They don't shift or effect the fabrics in any negative way. The glue stick washes out when you launder the piece. 😊 Easy-Peasy. Hope this helps.
