This is a tutorial showing step by step, how to make a fringe boho bag from thrifted items. Easier than you might think! Basic sewing knowledge and fun thrifted items needed.
This is a long tutorial, because it is basically a free class showing so many aspects of purse making. For example: lining, magnetic snap closures, straps, embellishing and so much more.

I get it. I'm in-between house, van, & storage with crochet & sewing. I have too much stuff & stuff is not selling because too many people are concerned with high cost of living up here in Indiana. I bought a black leather jacket grom the thrift store a year ago. Haven't worn it yet and now im thinking it may turn into a bag! I just bought a used sewing machine last month, never have sewn before, ive just been learning through KZbin. Wish me luck that i dont destroy the jacket for no reason. Lol

I'm absolutely gob-smacked by how incredible this bag is. And the way you teach, makes it seem so accessible! One thing I can say I've been learning from binge watching your tutorials :) is it's "safe" to cut things up. The way you dive right in on some of the beautiful fabrics you have used to make me gasp with fear!! Hahahaha! I've spent my life not using beautiful fabrics and things that I've collected, because I thought I'd never find anything else like them! And that I'd just make a useless mess! I hope you see this traci, last week I went to we call them Op shops here in Australia (Thrift shop) and I picked up 3 leather pants, 4 leather jackets one of the pants was moldy I washed them in soapy water with a little bleach and they came out perfect, I did hang them on line and finished drying in dryer but they still smelled really bad so I cut them up and the smell is gone it cost me over $100 but was worth it now I have too much leather lol, if that's possible, thank you so much I am really inspired by you ......I even retired and am now a bag maker full time I have a website if you would like to see what I have done❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤I am your number 1 fan keep em coming

Hi! Love this! I was actually looking for shabby cottage style patchwork jeans... And wow... Found your chnl and a WHOLE lot more! Im a very beginner sewer... I was wondering if you have to use a special needle to sew the jacket pieces together? I know you said you use a denim needle for the leather, but do you also use the same needle to sew everything else when making a bag with the roll sewn on or even just the sleeves together? Thanks so much for making these tutorials, especially for beginners with a limited budget.... And I volunteer once a week at a thrift shop for the last 12 yrs (small thrift shop at my local Council On Aging 😁), so I see a LOT of really cool stuff.... OK, I HAVE a lot of really cool stuff, lol 😂😉🤫.. Especially vintage linens that I knew what I wanted to do with it, I just had no idea HOW or even where to start! What fun & expressive assemblages! Do you use a heavy duty needle in your sewing machine? If I try thick material like denim my needle breaks. I have lots of beads & chains & buttons. Maybe make a macrame strap. Thanks so much.

I use schmetz jeans needle and standard thread. It sounds like your materials might be thick and be sure to sew slowly, using your hand crank in tricky areas. 💞💞💞
