Filipino Reactor. Keeping it real and natural.
I am Nephi Acaling. I am native to Bacolod City but currently living in Cebu City, Philippines. I’ve lived in different countries like Singapore, Japan and United States due to job assignments. In fact I was in the US when I started this channel thus the confusion sometimes where I am truly based.
I have completed my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree and I am currently working as a Project Control Engineer.
At a time, I was a band vocalist performing every Friday and Saturday night at a local bar chain but recently decided to quit from my band to focus on my KZbin Channel and my full-time job as an engineer. I was also a member of the Filipino Voice Symphony where I was taught by professional chorale singers and we actually bagged the Gold Medal in the International A cappella Championships held in Singapore in 2011. I was also the Glee Club President and the singing trainer for various competitions when I was in the university which was a humbling experience for me.
Ever since, I started watching television as a kid, I realized that I enjoy analyzing and commenting on things related to singing performances. I believe this was the foundation of my interest towards making a reaction channel.
I am a self-motivated, and a disciplined soul. I am always keen to up-skill myself by learning new things whenever I get a chance.
My real strength is my attention to detail. I pride myself on being sensitive to the beauty of vocal embellishments, be it major or very subtle.
Most importantly, I keep my reactions real and natural.

The story of this ad is : Nabila (the girl in peach scarf) and her families are going to visit 10 of her grandfather's siblings during Raya. We have this tradition of going together in cars called konvoi. They experienced all cliché mishaps (missed the red light, wrong house, having to introduce themselves to the old relatives as someone's son/daughter over and over again). They finished visiting 10 houses in one day and went home exhausted. Then, the relatives they visited earlier came by to visit them this time. Although Nabilah is reluctant to receive the big number of guests, her father and grandfather said they are here to return the favor (it is said guests bring 'rezeki' or blessings/joy with them when visiting). At the end of the ad, her grandfather said tomorrow they will go out again to visit her grandmother's siblings 😅 For me it's fun when you came from a big family. The more, the merrier right? This is how we muslims in Malaysia celebrate the month of Syawal(islamic calendar)..after 1 month of fasting in month of Ramadan. Everyone will be on a longgg holiday and go back to hometown/village and visit their relatives. From 1 house to another.. seeking forgiveness.. eating and catching up stories... it is very tiring but everyone enjoys every minute of it... tq for reacting nephie and aki!

Your Malay diction is very good. It's help being in neighbouring country. Tagalog do have some similarity to Malay language. So, the video. We do visit a lot of place on a day. For me personally, my family visit close neighbours in day one of Raya. Then car travel distance more than 30min places in day 2. Day 3 usually we do open houses for other people. Day 2 and day 3 are interchangeable.

I saw you were intrigued about "kap pun krub" (Thai language) in this comercial. The village in this video is in northern part of Malay Peninsula (state of Perlis/Kedah; Khai Bahar & Yuna originated from here) which is bordering with Satun state of Thailand. Both states shared similiar culture (Malay muslim community) hence its normal for people from this area to visit each other esp relatives during festive season. In this video however, they crossed the border just to buy some snacks using border pass.

Lol going on convoy to multiple houses is one of the joy for Eid celebration. There are so much fun that came with it. You’re literally having fun not only because you’re visiting other relatives but also the precious funny moments with people you convoy with. The wrong house joke is actually real, you know. Missing cars, wrong turn, left someone behind, etc. And we always end up laughing them off the whole day. It’s like going on adventure with your whole big family.

The families convoy went visiting their relatives at the north part of Malaysia, Perlis and Kedah, and even to the southern part of Thailand coz they are a lot of Malays there include their relatives.

Yes this is what we did during hari raya. We visit our families all day long and we eat a lot of of nice tradisional food. For your info, we celebrate hari raya for 1 month. But the first week is the most happening because normally people going back to city after 1 week to work
