Chevy Impala not shifting out of Park AND key not removing from ignition.

This video explains that after fixing the wire issue on the shifter and then if any wires touch that the key is not able to be removed or locked in the accessory position, the RAP fuse is blown on the passenger side kick board fuse block.

I found my issue was corroded battery cables. Replaced ends all worked.

I had the same problem, I sprayed some WD40 and pressed the trigger a few times and it has been working fine, it is just the small switch inside the gear lever that is causing the problem, perhaps the return spring is not powerful enough.

No my key won't come out unless you take the bottom of the steering wheel column there's a little button right there on the right u press up and then turn off the key and it will release

Hey guys. I've recently had this happen to me. If you turn your key on halfway (basically turning the battery on) for a couple of minutes, it'll unlock itself. I guess it's some sort of security feature. It worked for my 2010 Chevy Impala. Hope it helps✌🏿
