We're sad to report that Jim Oliver's Smokehouse in Monteagle tragically burned down in April of 2021. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the blaze. We hope they rebuild soon.

Sadly, the Smokehouse and Gift shop burned to the ground Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Total loss. Word is they hope to rebuild.

I met this guy (The man narrating the video) awhile back working at a Texaco in Lafayette, TN. I've stayed and ate at The Smoke House and loved it!!

They did one on the Star Cafe in Goodletsville. They made it look all cozy and a great place. In reality, it was probably the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. It's now long since out of business.

Hope they can rebuild after the fire, but if so, it won't be qutie the same. Great piece of Tennessee. Excellent food, smoked meats. Live music on weekends. Also, the great Louvin Brothers museum which had some great memorabilia.

Sadly it burned to the ground on 4/27/21. I've stopped there to eat occasionally for the last 30+ years. They have said they plan to rebuild, but hard to imagine that the same atmosphere and charm will exist. I will at least give it a try.

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that it burnt down. It was a very special place to alot of ppl. I know my wife and I are going to miss this place soo much. Hard to find a better place that you feel at home and eat some of the best smoked chicken around.

I am hoping that they will rebuild. As long as they have the same good food and good ppl there I will still go. It may not be the same but I can't imagine it not being there. My wife is pretty tore up about it burning as am I.
