Laminating glitter using a Scotch laminating machine

WARNING! WARNING!! Only try this at your own discretion!! I found that the Moxy pink glitter I used was fine however the Michaeals Creatology white glitter was a HUGE MISTAKE.......PLEASE USE CAUTION!!!!

It looked like your first try had sheets that were separated. You have to feed the folded side in first.

8:07 Just to let you know. your paper didn't wrinkle up like that because it's chunkier glitters, it's because that glitter itself is melting and bubbling, that's what it wrinkled up like that. The pink ones you used didn't melt that's why they stayed flat like that. Your " chunkier glitter" is probably made from plastic that conducts heat quickly, verses the pink ones probably doesn't conduct heat as quickly or have a higher melt point. If you don't believe me, prove my point, if you were to put saran wrap in your laminating pouch, your end result would be all wrinkly like your first try even though saran wrap is totally flat Try it if you would like to experiment or see my point .Have a great day♥☻☺.

I was wondering if it was hot enough the first time you put it through, I had the same happen to me. If you think about it cars stock is thicker than glitter, just a mere gesture. Tfs it was a great video and I have lots of great ideas.

Sorry to see what happened o the. Mink. Maybe try to use a plain one to push it out. Also I was thinking , maybe using the mica since they are flat and shiny. Hugs

What you could try to do on your white chunky glitter is to grind it in a grinder to make it a more smaller chunkier content since it's too thick inside to walk through your laminator by grinding it up in my make it smaller pieces to where you could use it. In more ways by grinding up I'm not for sure if this is going to work or not but it's worth a shot it will make it more like powder and it should run through your laminator a lot easier. On your other machine that you said you're smaller laminating she got lost inside your machine you might try putting your smaller pieces in a bigger sheet of a laminator so that way it won't get lost hopefully in your machine you'll have a bigger surface to work with.

Maybe it has something to do with what the glitter is made of. The first kind seems more plastic and may cause too much heat. The pink is beautiful! Big hugs and blessings sweet friend!

Yes I think you are exactly right. The pink will lay flat but the white that I used has a mixture with some of it being chunky. That Moxy brand (the pink) works great! I have since bought another color at Tuesday Morning because I will laminate more of.......but I'll use my Scotch machine instead this time.

I had tried a strip first in my Scotch laminator and it disappeared on me! I have ran 3 full sheets through after that and I am hoping it will be ok!!

Most glitter is made out of a combination of aluminum and plastic, in most cases Polyethylene terephthalate (PET*). Although not as common as plastic-glitter, some craft glitters are made out of metal and glass. Putting them in your minc might void your warranty if you even have a warranty on it😕.. I would first read the description on the glitter bottles before using to make sure there's no aluminum Hope they send you a new one especially for the price!

You should have put copy paper on top of the pouch! And if your laminator is to hot it will cause it to wrinkle also.

If you put a thin strip of card at the folded end of the laminate pocket it stops it from jamming in the machine 😉

That's happening because you're tearing apart the pouches!! You have to keep them stuck together! The glitter has NOTHING to do with it! You have to feed the end that's connected together in first!

I would use a carry sheet first instead of just running it without one makes a different. Dont like that lamaiter it didn't work for me at all like the one I can feed in flat not lift it up like that

Sorry..Ive been out of pocket and watching videos not always in order...lol. I saw "Minc Mess-up" first...please still contact the company. I've laminated at my schools for years (30+) and STILL don't believe yours should have done that. I've had those big llaminators catch film on rollers... Prayers and blessings
