If you plan to use light modifiers like a softbox I would 100% get the bare bulb attachment. The speedlight head def works best for your style of direct, harsh spot lighting.
@TNKPhoto Жыл бұрын
100% spot on with that. To get the most lighting out of the head, the bare bulb head would be best (and quality of light too). I forgot to mention that since that’s not typically our style but you’re correct with that. Thank you for watching Alex 🙌

Thanks Bro! I 100% AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU JUST SAID!! Just received my AD200 today and I love it...this little beast is so compact and versatile....I try to keep my equipment/gear as light as possible. And investing in AD200s is the best decision ill never regret. I'd boldly say to anyone starting don't buy the AD400 or even AD600, until you start making reasonable profits and your style of shooting demands it, invest first in AD200. Personally having two AD200s coupled with Godox AD-B2 gives you perfect versatility and room for creativity. And AD200-PRO is a waste of money...there isn't much difference from the AD200. And I know I'm reiterating what you just said LOOL!

You can use the AD400 on a lightstand without a problem as if you put i on a monopod, then you or someone has to hold the light, and if you shoot by yourself, this can be a problem. A simple, although not cheapest solution is to get the extension head for about $75, and some weights for your tripod. That way, if it does fall, the worst you'll have is a broken bulb and a broket bracket, but the AD400pro itself should be fine if you place it near the ground.

Excellent info primo, you get right to the important info, like not needing the extra flash bulb, the led modeling light and the protective casing. I knew the AD200 is the smarter more practical choice, but its my first strobe purchase and I am anxious about buying the cheaper option and would have bought the bigger and more expensive strobe for piece of mind, only to eventually buy the practical one I should have got later anyway. You saved me some money. Also, what wrist watch is that you have on? Its beautiful, I love bauhaus and yours looks so clean and German. Is it a Junkers brand?

I haven’t tried to use bare flash yet, but with a modifier this is only enough for me to shoot wide open often
@TNKPhoto Жыл бұрын
Yeah, we usually use modifiers when it’s a lot closer to the subject and we’re going with a tighter crop. With a wider crop where the subject is much smaller in the frame, we don’t stress out as much on the softness of light. Try that out and see how you like it. Thank you for watching 🙌

Hello Sir, I've a question. Can we Pair Godox ad 400 pro with V1 using a Xpro trigger?
@TNKPhoto2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching Rahul! As far as I know it should work because the v1 is newer than the flashes I use (tt600 and tt685) and they all work in receiver mode. You just have to set your 400 and your v1 to receiver on the same channel and the Xpro trigger will send to both. Usually I put group A for my stronger flash and group b for my weaker flash since its the secondary one. I hope that helps!

@TNKPhoto Жыл бұрын
Hey Arifin, thank you for watching. I would say they're both very very similar units in size. The small size difference is pretty insignificant. I would say the one that's in your budget is the one I would go with. I've owned both units and I really don't feel like I'm missing any power on the 400 over the 600. I hope that helps

Have you considered using the AD-B2 with 2x AD200s? Would this be something you would consider?
@TNKPhoto Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching Kenneth! Honestly, I haven't but that's because I have the AD400. So putting two 200s together with the AD-B2 is almost the same size which at that point, I may as well take my 400 out. Since most of our shoots are in the afternoon if they're not a wedding, we typically don't need THAT much power, so it's rare that we take the 400 on those shoots (unless we're at the sand dunes or some crazy location like that). I know one of our shooters uses the AD-B2 so I'm sure there's a market for it. If I didn't have the 400 I would consider it for sure

Thank you so much for watching my friend. I completely sympathize with working with a budget. I was born in El Salvador so I understand coming from nothing 🙏 I would recommend checking out smaller speed lights like the TT 600 from Godox. It uses the same receiver as the AD200 and it’s fairly powerful. Or if you can spend a little more you can opt for the tt685 which allows it to be a transmitter and receiver in case you have other godox flashes. The tt600 and transmitter is a good start and more economical option. I hope that helps

Thank you Priyanka! For prewedding/engagement honestly the AD200 I would say is "better" just because of portability. @TNKPhoto3 жыл бұрын
Oh man I would love to but at the moment we only have the 200s and 400. I can tell you one con that I would see with the 300 however is not being able to use the modifiers we use. We use a lot of MagMod products on the AD200 and on our flashes which the 300 I don't think would work with with the round shape. If I end up or one of our team members gets one, Ill be sure to review it

Hey man thanks for that. I was thinking between AD300 400 and 600 pros. Seems 400 pro and even 300 pro should do the trick for fashion and wedding photography outdoor and indoor?
@TNKPhoto3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching Sheldon! I think so: I think you definitely took away what I was trying to get across. For weddings and non-modifier shoots the 200 is plenty. If you're gonna be adding large softboxes and the like (which kill light output but give better light) then a larger flash would be better. If you're gonna be using softboxes and large umbrellas I would maybe look on the used market for the 400...you may be able to pick it up for a nice discount. Hope that helped!

Thank you Albert! I'll try to post more; Im trying to simplify my set up and editing to get more content out. You know, that's a GREAT question. I'll probably TRY one but not until I destroy my TT685's. The 685's act as transmitters and receivers so at the moment I don't see the need to upgrade my on-cameras. The reason I do like having on-camera flashes that take AA's is in case theres a dead battery you can always find replacement batteries at the store to get you out of a bind. The Lithium ones you're pretty much stuck if you have one fail. Have you used them?

@TNKPhoto3 жыл бұрын
Hey Abeba! Sorry for the late response. Feel free to DM us on IG, Im usually better at responding there. I think the 200 should be plenty powerful. Just have an extra battery in case you need it. I will say however, since you'd be indoors and with newborns you'll probably not be blasting flash at high power so you'll probably be ok with just one. I would say the 200 is better overall for portability purposes and the power is def. plenty for indoors
