Love Tuff Trax. Me and my dad wouldn't miss it. Even remember the USA-1 crew chief smashing his head on the door 😂. That shoulda been the crunch of the week.

28:05 you don't hear things like that anymore in this sport, the brand identity is lost. This was an outstanding event, lots of exciting races... Thanks for the upload.

The editing on this show is interesting. They used the 1991 Crunch of the Week graphics and used a different voiceover for the takeaways for it.

I would love to know the reasoning behind USA-1 retaining the steel body/glass windows. In this video they had at least two fiberglass bodies just sitting around the shop. With the amount of crashes they had in 89/90, they could have saved themselves a lot of extra work during repairs, not to mention making the truck lighter, and easier to repair in the future. And to think, those bodies still sit around in that same shop, in the same condition to this day. It's a shame they didn't just pull out of the 89 season at some point and finish #3 for 1990. It would be cool if Everett would finish it the way it was going to be.

Easy answer. Fiberglass racing bodies were more expensive and USA1 never just "rolled" he destroyed the body every time. It would have ran them into the poor house to replace a fiberglass body every other race. The "new truck" that didn't make this event is still in the exact same shape it was the day of this race, sitting in the back of the shop. Everett said a couple years ago he never touched it again.

The fiberglass bodies were for the new truck not this one

Everett sounds like a procrastinator.

Brother you aint the only one. I always dreamed of a PEI chassis underneath a new bodied regular cab USA-1. Everett missed out on staying in the game in the 90s.

And maybe he wanted to keep the truck closer to an actual truck, i understand they even used an original chevy frame. A lot cooler that way in my opinion, but being light and using a tube frame is what actually made them faster and more reliable (and safer). I'm not much into the fiberglass thing, anyway; give me an old heavy steel monster all day.

4:38, when the front axle impacts the set of cars in the other lane, looks like Steve Wilke's head actually gets thrown outside the cab of USA1 from the impact

I think Bigfoot made a tactical error... didn't need to go all out against either Clydesdale or Wild Hair... could have taken it much easier over the first set to not get all out of shape in no-man's land.

Does anybody know whatever happened to David Morris and Andy Brass?
@MTuncensored9 жыл бұрын
Andy went to run Nascar Truck series racing and then left racing to focus on his family as far as I know. He did an interview for TMB a few years back. David Morris sold Equalizer to Mike Hawkins from Manassas VA near where I live and Hawkins built a new truck. Mike Vaters of Black Stallion now has the original Equalizer chassis. I'm not entirely certain what Morris is up to.
