@@jws1272 My Fair Lady. JA was on stage doing that & Hollywood wanted to make the movie, the Producer did not want JA but got Audrey Hepburn, lovely lady but could not sing. JA went onto win an Oscar for The Sound of Music & In her acceptance speech she thanked the producer for freeing her up for the role of Maria. A polite dig by JA after that she was Hollywood Gold. The producer was Jack L Warner of Warner Bros.

Loved seeing this tribute to Julie Andrews, and to see her chum Carol Burnett, and the SOM children, were the icing on the cake!! I was 10 when I saw Mary Poppins for the first time with my family. Then a couple of years later The Sound of Music. What a talent and elegant lady!!

I will never forget going to Sound of Music! I also was 10, and saw Mary Poppins the same year. I was so enamored with Julie Andrews, I wrote her a letter, telling her I wanted to be just like her. She will always hold a special place in my heart!

idk but tears flowing that they had a reunion. I'm a Gen Z born in 1997, and this was the first film I've watched when I was 3y.o, I still have a Betamax CD of it. My grandma influenced me to watch it and so many old songs I have in my playlists. I'm so glad they had their reunion and told my grandma about it. rip to the other casts of Sound of Music, you've been a legacy as part of this great movie.
