Shawn Spears made such a huge statement when he slammed that chair over Cody's head at Fyter Fest last year hence recieving his self-proclaimed CHAIRman of AEW moniker. The spot was risky and the spot may not went the way it was originally meant to go, but I can't lie I marked after that moment. Shawn Spears made a huge impact after that chair shot it was amazing stuff, im just glad Cody didn't sustain any significant damage in the aftermath. I want to see Shawn Spears become a top heel in AEW he has certainly earned it and with a man like Tully Blanchard at his side as his manager, I just know big plans are in store for Spears, it is just happening in a slow build.

I managed to see Shawn live in Melbourne for a nxt show a few years back, the reaction he got was insane, he was incredibly over as the perfect 10. Just look at the 2017 royal rumble. He was the best thing about that rumble in my opinion. I'm a big fan, really hope he can achieve his goals in and out of the ring at AEW

for each company he's not really had much to work with. @DissidentDemon you could be right, but i felt watching the last year like they had no real plan for him along the way. I feel he's one of the few who's benefited from the restricted roster of Covid recently. He's had chance to show a steady character more. maybe the story all along was he's aimless then finds direction, but for me he was too aimless for too long. Reminded me of Eric Young in TNA being a joke who locked up with referees one week, then a suited intelligent contender the next, though Spears story isn't fully told so I now that is a weak comparison. With SS it seemed he had direction briefly when he joined Tully, but soon enough the inconsistency returned. HIs attack on Janela was pretty intense, but not followed up at the time well imo. he's one and one with Janela and has no victories over anyone more established. again no direspect to the man, he's not been a bad worker. just my thoughts on his position. sorry for long reply.
