[lil bit of backstory]
not a whole lot of.. plot? in the vid but. meadowsong (windclan) has grown up with his controlling abusive older brother, mothstare, and a number of other familial problems. he sneaks off to meet his mate, sweetsun (thunderclan), at a gathering and mothstare reminds him from afar that he knows of the illegal relationship and how he holds it over meadowsongs head. sweetsun is mostly aware of the kind of relationship between the two brothers and after being so torn up over having to see meadowsong so emotionally broken, not for the first time, sweetsun contemplates his life in thunderclan and decides that meadowsong is worth giving it all up for, and suggests they run away from clan territory.

The start of this video and song will always calm me down. I remeber first finding this video. DONT READ MORE UNLESS YOU WANT A LONG STORY. TW: Talk of abuse I remember first finding this video, riding in the passanger seat of my abusive mother's car, debating wether I should leap out the door despite the inevitable pain of hitting the pavement doing 55-60mph and walk the 4 hours to a (online) friend's house to escape. I was scrunched against the door, legs tucked up, blasting warrior cat MAPs as loud as I could to try to drown out her rants about me once again. My earbuds never quite got loud enough to drown it out (I earned some hearing damage for that). This song came on and I forced myself into my imaginary world. My OC/self insert/punching bag Maplefang and my (at the time) girlfriend's OC Hawkwhisper running from the clans. I put it on loop, building story after story until we finally got home and I ran to my room to re-write Maplefang's History into its 4th version. It's one it's 5th version now, and possibly nearing a 6th.

good god your art is gorgeous! this is fantastic, your use of colour in regard to mood is phenomenal and your timing/movement in the editing is spot-on with the music and just makes every feeling portrayed that much more Impactful. (The part with the thudding drums with the red scenes flickering over it especially was so well done, it actually physically made my heart speed up? It was just a really effective depiction of that kind of feeling.) I love how soft and smooth your lines and colouring are and the way you use shapes, and the backgrounds are fantastic and blend so nicely with the characters. I really love how stylistically cohesive your videos always are (and it's really cool to see how your style has changed across videos as your art has improved over time, it keeps getting even better while still being recognizable and unique and that's so neat to see?) your style is so... stylish, haha, and really recognizable. aw thank you!! Im flattered you wanna know more about em! yes sweetsuns sister emberlight is around! I dont have a super solid grip on her story unfortunately, I gotta do some brainstorming before I start elaborating more on her own arc, but she takes a pretty solid part later on in sweetsun and meadowsongs story. hmm I dont think mudshadow ever lied to them about it but kinda avoided the subject altogether? most of thunderclan assumes one of my minor ocs, lakefire (the flame point at 0:39), is their father because hes the only colourpoint in TC that could have sired them, but nobody really brings it up cause hes quite older than mudshadow and has a mate and children. I think sweetkit and emberkit kinda picked up on not asking about it cause of that they DO find out who their real dad is when mudshadow learns of sweetsuns plan to run off with meadowsong and tries to use her story to convince sweetsun not to leave, though it really only ends up putting fuel on the fire...and I think Ill leave the rest of that story for the future (and figure out a way to get it out there)! :^)
