Thank you for this! I'm slowly getting to grips with the Cairn system, and watching this was like hanging out with an old friend showing me the ropes haha. Have a great day!

Also good save on that octopus. I started the video wondering why there was only 1 video following these guys, so that was extra suspense haha

Thank you for your work. Cairn looks great for solo rpg. Personally, I would have made an initiative roll; caught the captain and fed the Octopod with him.🐙🙃

Excellent. Thanks for your video. Where can I find the Bestiary pdf?
@paultice Жыл бұрын
Hi. It's on the cairnrpg.com website. Look for Monsters (Other Formats) in Resources.

Fun video, thanks for sharing! Guess making characters simultaneously makes things quicker, but maybe doing one at a time would help to make more sense out of the random rolls. I imagine jumping between characters makes it harder to keep all their stuff and ideas for their backstories in mind, but maybe that's just how my brain works :D

I was quite pressed for time so I had to rush a bit 🎲🎲🎲

@@paultice Oh yeah, understandable. Anyway, that was an interesting start for these three, I hope we'll see them back. I was actually thinking about running a solo game with Crain and using FU for oracles after your first Crain video but I'm not sure, OSR combat can be a bit scary. Maybe I should stick to narrative systems for now, and use the random tables from Crain because those seem to be awesome for generating NPCs and stuff.

Great vid! I only got as far as generating one character but realised there was nothing about the world or any direction in the main rules but this was inspiring. What will happen next to our plucky band of miscreants?
@paultice2 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean about the rule book. I was disappointed at first as it gives the impression there's a setting included, but I've found the system really fun to use and there's extra free stuff like the Bestiary on the website.

The sound of the dice rattling in the dice tower was too much for me to handle. Had to skip this one. I use a leather cup and leather tray for rolling my dice to muffle the sound.

Dice towers are evil. Let us never speak of them again. 😆
@ChuckBarchuk2 жыл бұрын
lol. How would you compare this to Runecairn Paul?
@paultice2 жыл бұрын
Hi Chuck. This has a more traditional gritty fantasy feel, no classes although you can choose archetype builds if you want, no Dark Souls bonfires. I really like both games and I think I'd feel lost without the Runecairn Advanced Rules for the solo oracles.
@ChuckBarchuk2 жыл бұрын
@@paultice So is the character's class essentially roleplayed? In Runecairn the weapon bestows certain abilities onto your character. Looks like here in Cairn its all roleplayed.
