Baptist teaching would be that since Paul had a thorn in the flesh, you're going to need one too. And it's a sin to think otherwise. But the church needs buildings and motor vehicles so it's quite all right for the church leadership to trust God that the people are going to come up with the money. That's the extent of most Baptist faith.
