Then it will pop into your head at some random time and you'll give it another listen. I simply find this song 'eternally young', even at 20 years of age. I guess the greatness of a song is that every line be necessary, not just filled in to get a rhyme. This song may have only one line that's superfluous and that's amazing, and that's true poetry in that the lines are so evocative, so deep in explanatory power. I love 'worthless foam from the mouth', which depicts our lives, but honestly it's just one deep line in a song created from them.

I was 10 years old in 1964 when Dylan released this song. I have never been able to listen to his voice so had never heard it. Spotify played it on my list last week and this beautiful voice grabbed me by the throat and forced me to learn it after work that night! Her cover is brilliant!

Well said, everything depends on one's taste. No one can say that a singer is better than another one. I prefer to hear Sinead sing Bobs Dylan's song than Bob himself, but one could prefer Bob, the original, and that is fine that way. Mozart is not better than Beethoven, and vice-versa, and I like both of them in a different manner.
