I'm heading to Scotland for Landscape Photography. Today, the Scotland photography vlogs start.

My Camera Gear: www.brendansad...
Scotland is a playground for landscape photography. There are so many picturesque places to make photos. I'm heading north on a photography assignment with Visit Britain where I'll be photographing some of the most iconic landscapes in the area.
My first location is one of the most popular landscape photography locations in Scotland. Bow fiddle has long been a favourite of photographers visiting Scotland, and I've wanted to photograph it for ages. So, I took the chance on my first visit to Inverness area.
The location didn't let me down either. The light was beautiful and I walked away not only with one or two images but a handful of pictures that I think will really work well. I'm extremely happy with the way the first day went.
On tomorrow's vlog, I'll have some more landscape photography as I head to Glencoe - one of Scotland's most beautiful places.

We had this at my University here in the US - West Virginia University PRT ( Personal Rapid Transit ) to get from campus to campus. It was the original proof of concept for it back in the 60's. Glad to see it is getting used somewhere else!

Great vid as usual. Seeing you on assignment is for sure different from your normal videos. Can you you're all business where normall you're a bit more chilled out. Only a bit more lol. I was there for the 1st time end of November. We visted Cove bay, Bow fiddle rock and Ferry glen. This was high tide. Low/mid tide gives you some nice leading lines. Bow fiddle rock makes me think of a Star Wars destroyer crashed and lying on it's side lol.

Brilliant vlog Brendan and great to see you up in my part of Scotland. Bow Fiddle is a great place to photograph (I’m probably biased being a geologist 🙂) as you say and the light can be amazing down there. For the aurora, it’s worth keeping an eye on the ‘AUK Aurora UK’ Facebook page and also an app called ‘Glendale App’. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the series.

So... not shooting with the 'R'? Is that because you need the shots and know the 5D better at this point? I just sent off my old cameras for trade-in appraisal and am planning on pulling the trigger on the 'R'. Getting last minute jitters. Scotland would be amazing. Looking forward to the next one!

Looking forward to this series. You know its hard to judge when I am not their... but the entire time on the shoot I thought why doesnt he use the rocks on the side as a frame?? So basically my first Idee would have been to try the 3rd shoot you did from see-level. Maybe at a slight angle so not to put the arch in the middle. Anyways... lets see what Scotland has to offer.

Do you know windy.com Brendan? I haven't used MeteoEarth but windy seems to have move layers (including different cloud height, visibility, fog, waves and weather radar) and detailed weather forecast with cloud height information. You should definitely check it out if you haven't already!

IF you are looking for a reliable Aurora website for when you are in scotland Brendan try these 2 aurora-alerts.uk/ www.marsport.org.uk/observatory/index.php They are the two id suggest for Scotland as its what i use. Also the location to try in Inverness is the Kessock bridge thats one of the best in and around inverness

How reliable is MeteoEarth in Scotland though??
@jamesfindlay7150
@jamesfindlay7150 5 жыл бұрын
its reliable in the central belt, anywhere off the normal spots it hit and miss. You know the auld saying up here "don't like the weather wait 5 mins" or as the big yin says"in scotland there no bad weather just the wrong clothing"
@TheNonsenseAdventures
@TheNonsenseAdventures 5 жыл бұрын
@@jamesfindlay7150 very true. It was the fact we stood on the banks of Loch awe and he was going "yeah it's meant to be clear" yet just thick blanket of low cloud. I had 3 different cloud forecasts that night from 3 different apps. Ahh well.
