There was this guy that lived a long, long time ago in Galilee. I think he said something like, "treat others the same way as you'd like to be treated yourself." Yes, that's what he said. It's a very old lesson, pretty simple too.

My gardener had 20 retail customers and began to win commercial accounts, that paid much more. He fired 19 of his retail accounts, except 1. Me. He told me this. I never asked him why. When he began, I gave him a year end bonus. Not much, but I increased it every few years. Sometimes I would give him an extra $50, when he took time to fix something. My year end bonus is now $400. Maybe $500 for the year, if I include a few smaller ones. If I had to replace him, the added cost might be $3,000 a year. So, being kind up front, will reward you in other ways.

This rings with more truth than many realize. An even more important aspect deals with wildlife and our role as stewards to the natural order. Unfortunately, at times we must intervene, as disease stalks an un-thinned herd. A tightrope between choice and consequence. Every living thing deserves a shot at the future, but the primal world is brutal, far beyond the capacity of humans.

I think the key element here is empathy and there various indicators of this. It’s not sympathy or kindness in themselves it’s the actual ability up to understand or appreciate a situation from another person’s perspective. I know a number of people who clearly lack empathy and they are the ones I wouldn’t rely on or trust in a difficult situation. They simply don’t understand your fears, anger etc and so don’t react in the way you would hope.

I think this is good, general knowledge. However, a narcissist is able to be 100% on time, can keep promises, and show respect to others apart from a particular relationship they are being harmful in. They can be very skilled con artists and I have been completely deceived by a few in my life because they passed in ways mentioned in this video. On the other hand, I have known people who might be perceived as not too warm or courteous, and will give you the shirt off their back!

Yes, many great world religions and philosophies base their ethics partly on how we treat the least amongst us. I was shocked of late to see how a good friend treated someone selling the big issue (a UK magazine sold by homeless people in the street, to raise money, so they can be self supporting and gradually build a better life). She refused to buy one, as "these people may be covered in fleas and filthy..." Myself and another friend were horrified by her comments, especially as she claims to be a socialist, caring person! My sister in law, who goes to a Spiritualist church, also will not buy from them, talking about "down and outs..."as if they are less than human. Both people also are apt to let you down at the last minute, as something more pressing (for them) comes up. So, yes I agree, both real indicators of a persons true nature.

Like many presentations, this is excessively wordy, repetitious, redundant. More succinctly: Observe the person in situations when they don’t realize they’re being observed. Observe the person’s interaction with animals, with relatively helpless, unfortunate, fellow human beings. Observe them in more than one scenario, or context. Do not judge hastily….perhaps re: the “waiter example” the dude had previously had an affair with your wife, or stole from you. Perhaps NOT paying so much attention to how other people behave (a quality of small-mindedness) and instead, do something to improve the Biosphere, or quality of life for people, animals, the ocean, a forest, and work on yourself.
