アウシュビッツ収容所を父ヴラデックが生き延びた体験も圧倒されますが、息子でコミック作家のアート・スピーゲルマンと父との現在の関係がもう一つの作品の柱となっていることにも原さんも言及されていました。生き延びた人だからといって、美化したりするのではなく、吝嗇だったり頑なだったりする気難しい父と上手くやっていけない息子の苦悩もリアルでした。

Yes, they are the same size (B5). And the new one is two times as thick as the old one because it binds two volumes together.
