I've thought about living permanently in Australia for this reason among many others but I think in this scenario even If Australia is spared of nuclear strikes and nuclear winter, imagine realising that the populous giants of China and India are VERY hungry and know that Australia still has food. Imagine then finding out that a portion of the Chinese Navy has survived and is making its way to Australia and is going to invade by any means necessary. I imagine there could be possibly hundreds of thousands or MILLIONS of refugee boats filled with terribly traumatised and starving Chinese, Indians, Indonesians etc. Then there is also the possibility that the nuclear powers secretly keep a portion of their nuclear weapons and could blackmail you to take your food with the threat of nuclear strikes.

There is a reason people should be able to grow their own food. So many ways to do it indoors anymore. The cheap systems don't use a lot of power either.
