13:10 Brazil wasn't strong at all, but France was on thin ice with NATO (IIRC they had actually left by this point), and when they, the UK, and Israel tried to bomb the Suez canal after Egypt nationalized it, the US immediately prepared for war against them, and at least one of those countries was an ally. Add to the mix a pinch of Red Terror and a dash of Monroe Doctrine... yeah France would have gotten body slammed by Uncle Sam.
