That Colonel was a brave man. You can always hear Kittie Carlisle laughing in the backround. She enjoys being on this show. Thanks for the video.

The first round was tough--all three men seemed uncertain and were very slow with their responses.

I had one of those black & white baby photo calendars when I was a little girl. It was way out of date by the time I discovered it (probably from the 50s), but I kept it for years because I loved looking at the pictures so much, and when I got older I could read the funny captions too. It was a date-book type calendar, with a photo for each week, so there was lots to look at. I remember photos of babies in glasses like the one shown at 11:23. In fact, that might even be one of the same photos that was in my calendar! The only one I really specifically remember, though, was a picture of a baby standing up playing a piano (maybe a toy piano?), wearing a Davy Crockett hat and looking as if he were singing, with a wide open mouth. The caption was, "Davy, Davy Crockett.. king of the wild frontier!...." I didn't get the reference, because I'd never seen the show and had to have it explained to me. After that, I knew the song (actually just the refrain) long before I ever actually saw any episodes of the program. ;)

I prefer my commercials as a part of the show. Having Gracie Allen serve George Burns a cup of Maxwell House coffee. That feels natural instead of facing bears dancing as they wipe their butt. Just "GERITOL" across the screen saves time.

OMG, that #1 in first round seemed such a plodding dimwit, just sitting and staring and ignoring a question! But not such a clever tactic, in the end!

Value of $1,000 Canadian from 1957 to 2020 $1,000 in 1957 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $9,154.36 today, an increase of $8,154.36 over 63 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 3.58% per year between 1957 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 815.44%. This means that today's prices are 9.15 times higher than average prices since 1957, according to Statistics Canada consumer price index. A dollar today only buys 10.92% of what it could buy back then. The 1957 inflation rate was 2.05%. The current year-over-year inflation rate (2019 to 2020) is now 2.25%1. If this number holds, $1,000 today will be equivalent in buying power to $1,022.49 next year.
