Tom Poston was long time friends with Suzanne Pleshette (Bob Newhart Show). After they were both widowed, the deaths of their spouses brought Poston and Pleshette together again, and they married in 2001. They remained married until his death from respiratory failure in Los Angeles on April 30, 2007. She died the following year, and they are buried close to each other.

digging Polly Bergen's sunglasses. I go for the contestant that seems clueless, that is often the actual person. in this episode it only worked once. interesting to see Madhur Jaffrey.

A fairly local reference that gets me a chuckle, I live in Spokane, WA which isn't far from Moscow, Idaho where the University of Idaho is. Moscow and the UofI are also right across the border from Pullman, WA where Washington State University is, so there is a long rivalry between the two despite WSU being larger in a better sports conference. In fact they are close enough they are both served by the same airport, Pullman/Moscow Regional Airport on the Washington side. I recall years ago I was talking to a guy from Europe online and I told him to look at a map for Spokane, and he spotted Moscow, Idaho not far from us and thought it was funny too. But thats common in America, many towns named after places settlers came from and were inspired by to name the town after. Just like Paris, Texas and the New versions, like New York and New Orleans. Even Boston is a town in England and Cleveland is a County in England. And then there is St. Petersburg, Florida which is the second largest Russian city as well. And of course I have relatives that went to the U of Idaho and have relatives that live in towns not far from it as well like Lewiston, ID, so a not too common local laugh that is still relevant all these years later.

Polly being Polly. Winged Foot golf course when set up for a major tournament is so tough, the pros have a tough time making par. I used to caddie at the Westchester Golf Club between school years but once did Winged Foot. The hurdles are a tough event. I had the misfortune of doing the high hurdles from time to time in high school. Mary the hurdler was gorgeous.

Yeah, but she didn't know where it was located!! She said Topeka! I ruled her out immediately, and smelled a fraud when she stood up.

I love a young Tom Poston on any show he's on, but he is sooooo long winded. No wonder he doesn't get to many questions in (I think he's even worse than Polly)

The main problem with this show is that way too many of the games are the achievements of non-Americans. The first game characters who appear in this episode are from Great Britain. And there have been people on from India, South America, Italy, Japan, and other countries, in other episodes. It's hard to understand these people, given their accents. Similarly, they sometimes can't understand the questions from panelists, or the panelists cannot understand responses given. Such difficult communication renders the entire game frustrating and uninteresting. Since this episode begins with men from Great Britain, I will skip it and move on to the next segment, or to another episode. But given the premise of "To Tell The Truth" (TTTT), I have largely given up on these "foreign" games, and TTTT generally.

At 5:00, is Tom Poston 'jones'n', for a 'fix'? Damn, he looks like he's sweating (yes, Virginia--the studio lights are hot) and he keeps scratching. Looks like many a 'junky' I remember from the streets. LMAO...at 19:00, once again Polly shows her seemingly innate 'denseness', by pooh-poohing contestant # 1's correct answer of 'making noises, grabbing a stick and /or throwing rocks at the bear--as an aggressive/defensive maneuver. A popular contemporary response. But dear Polly seems to think the damn Bear wont 'EAT, or Attack', her.
