Contestant 1 is my grandfather who helped raised me! I stumbled on this show by accident, this is crazy :0 the babies on Saipan portion really hit, he ended up moving to Saipan after marrying my grandma, and my mom would tell me stories of how he couldn’t go to the other side of the island because of what he had saw happening on the cliff sides. Thank you so much for preserving this. Grandpa died when I was very young, and by seeing this I got to witness a whole other part of his personality that I would have never experienced otherwise.

I knew it might be the little kid that caught the 500 lb shark, because even though he got it in close by himself, it did say he needed help from a group of men to bring it all the way in. Also, a little boy catching that makes big news, an adult catching it, not quite so much. I heard once about a 5 year old who caught an 8 lb bass on his toy Spiderman reel ! So things like that can happen.

"There's alot of babies left over in a big pen. I thought maybe you had seen 'em." "That was after the marines left." This kind of banter would get shot down so quick in this day and age with this over-emotional society.

Philo T. Farnsworth declared that he regretted having invented television, when he saw how it was being used for decadent forms of entertainment, and for promoting liquor and tobacco products. He thought it would be used more for educational programs. Apparently, he didn't spend much time listening to the radio, or he would've realized that most people in the entertainment industry aren't that intelligent!
