Finding out that the first contestant was the inspiration for that great musical is incredible! What an education this show is!

The Lone Ranger is probably as significant to the US as Robin Hood is to the UK, both seen as real legendary people to admire as role models. I remember in the early 60s getting annuals of both, and the characters were alive as anyone could be. Great memories.

Polly laying the smackdown on Bud! Bud was always a true professional. The Lone Ranger on both radio and television was along with my Dad, a personal hero to me. Good triumphing over evil. Once in a while, the show puts in a twist as in game 1.

I'm just wondering why the 3 ladies on the first panel were all seated at the start of the show rather than on top of the lift. Perhaps one of them was handicapped in some way and the producers did that as a courtesy to her. That's just a guess, probably wrong. :)

Greg and Dr. James--I agree with both of you. I guessed this one correctly. I thought the response of one of the imposters was a little snarky, and felt that if she'd been the real one, she wouldn't have done that on TV. That would be bad for her business.

They said there was a broadway production and motion picture based on them. I saw the trailer and I doubt any of it was based on them. I understand they need to change things up to make it interesting, but I just think it probably was just based on the fact they started the bells. Idk.

Nowadays, 50% of the categories represented by these contestants would not have been permitted on the air because the public would have raised holy hell. And good for us that we have evolved so that needless animal and human suffering has become so distasteful.

I kinda get annoyed when the contestant gets asked about productions based on their work (unless they own the rights to it or produced it) or other trivia. There are things that might be of interest to people in their field of work, but it doesn't mean they know every little thing that's out there. Just because a production was based on something they did doesn't mean they will remember who wrote the music or things like that. Except for the story, they may not have had anything to do with the making of the show. I have no problem with trivia directly related to their field of work like terms they should know. It's just seems silly to judge someone on trivia that wasn't directly related to their profession or day-to-day experience.
