Just chiming in to say that this panel is my all time favorite on TTTT.

agree, this is the panel I remember, although I recall certain things about earlier dated shows.

I much preferred Polly Bergen to Peggy Cass and Don Ameche to the "always trying to be funny but rarely is "Orson Bean.
@kristabrewer93634 жыл бұрын
You're joking The only GOOD thing they did was get rid of Polly Bergan. Peggy Cass and Orson Bean were AWFUL on this show!!! But yea, Don Ameche was ok, and so was Ralph Bellamy (and Betty White; well she makes ANY show)

@@kristabrewer9363 Peggy and Orson were great. Polly was awful.

Absolutely LOVED when Orson Bean received his comeuppance from the horseshoe girl. Proof that sometimes it can backfire if you practice deceptive questioning. "Reverse curve" indeed!

The horseshoe champion was a lovely young lady. #3 in that game was gorgeous. Very creative student. Bud made his job look easy. Orson was an offbeat kind of guy right up to his death.

I knew that the aquanaut was Number 1 from the reveal. Why? The perfect military crease in his trousers. Every time they had a military person on, they always have sharply pressed trousers.

Amazing that, back then, there were 5,000 applicants to Princeton and they accepted 1,100. Last year they had nearly 30,000 applicants and they accepted 1,908 new students.

I knew it was No. 1 (Underwater Lab) because, when he replied to a question, he added, "Sir." Sounds military to me.

He interestingly enough also trained Scott Carpenter, one of the original Mercury 7 Astronauts, to become an Aquanaut.

It is rather interesting to observe what actually happened on the date of one's birth. I was born August 21, 1959, around 8:30am, EST. Hawaii became a state at 4pm, same day.

I wonder if they got fined or jailed for what they did
@TechGently3 жыл бұрын
@@kristabrewer9363 I don't think my Grandfather would have demanded they get jailed, he was a Registrar (verifying enrollment, maintenance of records, etc) at Princeton U, as well as the Head Swimming Coach back (two roles, took his coaching more seriously) then so he probably laughed it off, and more of a lesson the next time around to be more careful. The admissions team would have referred that to him I believe after that snafu, I don't remember him talking about it though.

The casual and inadvertent confession of class and wealth; it probably wasn't that hard for him to get into Princeton. The eye rolling - ug. Even a panel of Hollywood folks knew that flying was still not a regular event for most people.
