New episode posted! In case folks aren't aware, we'll be resuming regular posts of new episodes on weekdays starting on Monday, going back first to fill in all the shows I missed to date before returning to the end of the series (1965-67). I'm posting this one episode early and out of order for silly technical reasons that aren't worth explaining. :) Since no one has seen this one on KZbin yet, maybe we can use it for the first show in tomorrow night's live chat in the WML group. Seems like an interesting line up of segments! --------------------------- Join our Facebook group for TTTT-- great discussions, photos, etc, and great people! facebook.com/groups/718020231652577/ To stay up to date with postings, please consider supporting the TTTT channel by subscribing. The TTTT channel will feature all available episodes of the nighttime CBS series that ran from 1956 to 1967, with a new show posted every weekday in original broadcast order. I wonder if there was a bit of a crossover between WML and TTTT on this episode. The real Johnny Piscopo went to school in Tilton, NH. John Charles Daly went to the Tilton School and frequently mentioned that fact along with his ongoing ties to the school, how often he visited there, etc. Bennett Cerf would even mention it from time to time.

On the lobster woman one at the end, I knew it was #3 because short hair is easier to manage when you're out doing stuff. That's why I have my hair short too, although my hair is much shorter. It's admittedly easier for a woman to have very short hair these days but I can't say I wouldn't shave my hair to a few millimeters in length at any other time in history either because I frankly have grown old enough not to give a damn about other people's opinions of me.

I'm from NH and dated a lobster fisherman back in the 1980's for a short period. I learned a bit about lobsters and could have faked those questions. I still got it wrong because #1 mentioned Buck's Harbor and Castine which are both in Maine. Her accent was off but I was fooled by that answer. Not sure where the place mentioned that was fished was correct or not. There is a way to tell males from females (think it's by the mouth parts) and there are other types of lobsters. Spiny lobster for one. Just go to Florida and visit a restaurant that offers "all you can eat Maine lobsters" which I've done and you'll know they DON'T serve Maine lobsters. There's a limit on the size you can keep (to sell) it's measured with a tool and it has to be large enough to fit in the measurement. Age has nothing to do with it. Also, I think the panelist when asking when they are smaller (I would have said right after birth - she missed that one) I think they meant when they shed their shells. That is late spring and they sell for less and are called "soft shells". I would have asked what a "pistol" was. A lobster missing both claws. They grow back but loose them in fights and lobsters are cannibalistic.

#2 Bodyguard looked like a Large Enough Man who could easily Bodyguard Winston Churchill. So I think that is why he got so many Votes.

I was wondering if it be at all possible to get the episode that a deceased friend of mine appeared on this show? He was one of the 3 contestants. All i recall was that Ann Sheridan, the movie actress was one of the panelist. I believe the year was 1962-63.
@epaddon4 жыл бұрын
That would have been on the daytime version of TTTT, where Sheridan was a regular panelist in its first years. Unfortunately, the daytime version of TTTT which premiered in 1962 is lost up to late 1965 when the primetime panelists took over on the daytime show as well.

Strangely enough a John A Piscopo obituary comes up, Laconia, NH, dog sled racer, yet this John was born in 1921, the boy in TT the truth would have been born around 1945 to appear in this 1960 episode, his father's name was not John as one might expect, but Benjamin, even more confusing is he had two sons BOTH named John A Piscopo but they were II and III and both lived in Florida; May, 2007 John A. Piscopo, Sr. SANBORNTON, NH- John A. Piscopo, Sr., 85, of Hunkins Pond Road died Saturday, May 26 at his home surrounded by his family. Born October 25, 1921 in Laconia, NH he was the son of the late Benjamin and Giselda (Spagnoli) Piscopo. He attended Manlius Military Academy in Manlius, NY, Laconia High School and Bentley School of Accounting in Boston, and served in the US Navy during World War II. Married to Mildred (Millie) Scott, his wife of 61 years, he lived in the Lakes Region all of his life where he managed family properties in downtown Laconia and owned and operated Mt. View Motel and Cottages on Lake Winnisquam. He served many years on the Board of Directors of the Citizen’s National Bank. He was well known in the Lakes Region for his long affiliation with sled dog racing and was a member of the Lakes Region Sled Dog Club for many years. He had a love of woodworking, fishing and gardening, and was known for his generosity, sharp wit and gentle ways. He was a communicant of St Joseph’s Parish in Belmont, NH He is survived by, and will be missed by his family; his wife, Mildred, of Sanbornton, son, John A. Piscopo II, of Boca Raton, Florida, son, James S. and his wife, Nicole (St. Clair) Piscopo, of Sanbornton, daughter, Cynthia P. Howland, of Pompano Beach, Florida, and four grandsons, John A Piscopo III of Florida, and Justin S. and J. Austin Piscopo both of Sanbornton and Corey J. Piscopo of Dover NH.; nephews, John Harkins of Tolland, Ct., Robert Scott of Gilford, and Richard Scott of Nashua, and a niece, Peggy Dea, of Concord, NH. Beside his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Isabella Hopkinson and Marie P. Simoneau. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 30, 2007 from 5-8 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia using the Carriage House entrance.

This John Piscopo Sr. was the boys father. The boy is John Piscopo II. The boy and his father were both dogsled racers. The boys mother is named Mildred as she said so during the lobster group of challengers, and so that checks out with the obituary. Also she referred to herself as the mother of Johnny. It is fairly common to call the boy Johnny or Jack if his father's name is also John.

I correctly guessed the boy because he had a New England accent. Then I incorrectly guessed his mother because of same accent 😂.

While "decompressing" from the arduous task of giving my students their final grades, I was driven to watching the syndicated version from 1990 and 1991--and they weren't half-bad. I especially liked the ones hosted by ex-football player Lynn Swann, and some of them even featured Polly Bergen and Kitty Carlisle on the panel. I don't think the "sleaze factor" really set in until about 2000.

Watching the shows in posting order, it now seems odd for the contestants to turn right instead of left to walk down the stairs; also for the panelists not to display their votes in front of them. Also we suddenly have Polly Bergen and Don Ameche again instead of Peggy Cass and Orson Bean, with Kitty and Tom sitting in different seats.

To clarify what happened, #1 thought Kitty had asked, "Which of his relatives was IN America?" as opposed to "Which of his relatives was AN American?" That's what explained his answer that threw everyone off. Kitty's mistake was not clarifying what her question was and just blithely assuming he had heard right because given how Churchill's mother being American is a basic piece of knowledge, there's no way an imposter wouldn't have been properly briefed on that.
