I am in canada I have the exact same model. You're 100% correct. If you're following the rules of the road or sidewalk than people should just be quiet and mind their own business and be happy there is a new way for people with what ever disability to get to their destination without excessive heat , wind, cold, or rain. Regular scooters especially mobility scooters are not enclosed... so this is just an upgraded version. Please enjoy your scooter. Ignore those comments.

I actually enjoy people that try to tell me my Q-Runner is a mini-car and not a mobility scooter, I even had a cop that pulled me over for no license plates one time and argue that I was driving a car. I told him to contact a Sergeant on the police force that I asked about the legality of a driving Q-Runner in my town BEFORE I bought mine, I sent him the website from where I bought it from, he looked at all the specifications and info and told me I was "good to go". I perpetuate the debate now with people after adding a sticker to each side of my scooter that says "powered by a 426 Hemi engine" pumping out 425 Horsepower. LOL 🤣 Just ignore the people that try to argue that it's a car Elsa and enjoy the attention driving one of these creates.

What jurisdiction and country is it legal? Can I drive it in the bike lanes in San Diego? Or where there are bicycle chevrons?

I live in Texas. I have friends all over the United States who also have these same enclosed mobility scooters and they are able to drive these on the bike lanes or shoulder of the road. Since they are classified as a mobility scooter, they are not street legal. So you can only drive these on the bike lanes or shoulder of the road. And depending on the laws of your specific city, the sidewalk as well. I actually have a friend who lives in San Diego and she also has one of these. She's never had an issues or a problems. But in California, you can't drive on the sidewalk at all.

They FINALLY came up with a MOBILITY SCOOTER that is COVERED - regular scooters aren't covered and if someone with mobility issues are caught in the rain, or it's too windy, it makes it very hard to get through town and to get home!!! People with mobility issues have the right to have their independence. It is 100% a MOBILITY SCOOTER!!!! It is also for the elderly. So, if you have an elderly parent and they need to get around (and can't afford a car) this is their way to get around.

Unfortunately though I like them they are too unwieldy to let you drive around inside stores and market places like you can with a regular mobility scooter.
@b_uppy
@b_uppy 8 ай бұрын
@@grahamjohnson4702 That is problematic. The conflicting doors in freezer section alone would cause an unfortunate meltdown, lol. They do allow you to bypass buses and scheduling, and buses not running, etc if you live close enough to the places you need to go. And being protected from harsh weather would be glorious.

Sad we don't have better sidewalks and bike lanes to use here in the US. Not sure I'd want someone with declining vision and reflexes in the road with something this wide. It's a hard dilemma.
@b_uppy
@b_uppy 8 ай бұрын
@@michellehawkins1027 It's about as wide as a trike. There are paved trails in many places that allow these. Other places have stroads that lack sidewalks so this gives the user protection from noise, splashing from mud puddles, added visibility, etc. Feel sorrier for the mobility device user...

So since this is and is classified as a mobility scooter, no drivers license, insurance or plate is required. It's a mobility scooter so it's not street legal. It's only meant to be driven on the sidewalk, bike lanes or shoulder of the road only. Top speed is 15mph so that's why it's not street legal. It's too slow to be driven on the main road. So I only drive mine on the bike lanes or shoulder of the road.

@@b_uppy I think this is where this would get confusing, being most people who need and use mobility scooters use one they can use in the store. So making parking places for them isn't really something people think about at the moment, since just using one to get somewhere is kind of new. I can see how people seeing someone park it and walk to the store would think it's just a smaller version of a car,wich it kind of is.

The difference is not that it's a motor instead of a engine, it's the size, power, speed, and sometimes occupancy that determines if it's legally defined as a mobility scooter or legally defined as a car. Electric motor or gas engine does not usually matter. Nice mobility scooter though!!

It is a scooter but looks like a small car from the outside. It’s ok for people to question you as they probably never seen one before. I have never seen one myself so from far away I would assume is a smart car or something but I would immediately understand it’s not once I see the inside is basically a scooter with a small car shell. Don’t stress out too much with people you’re still young, at my work they’re the same and most make even more $$$ than me and I get stressed out just trying to make them understand basic things. I would love to have one of these now but 15 mph is a bit too slow for me since I have a scooter that goes 50 mph and another one with a seat that goes 28 mph.

I actually do not mind the questions. Weather it has to do with my vision or my mobility scooter. I enjoy sharing about it and taking the time to educate people about something interesting. I don't mind the questions but what I do mind is the criticism or judgments I get. Like complete strangers go on my page and tell me that I'm lying about this being a mobility scooter or why don't I just get a real car or that I'm not handicapped or disabled and I should stop telling people that because I'm lying. Or that mobility scooters are only meant for disabled people and I am clearly not so I shouldn't have this. They just tell me things as if they are facts but they have no idea about my life or my mobility scooter. I obviously did my research about everything so I know the laws and rules about what it is to have one of these and where I can and cannot drive these. It's just really frustrating that when people don't know something instead of asking they assume they know everything and try to tell me what to do. That's what I get frustrated about. But still I take the time to correct them and explame the facts about the situation and most of the time they stay real quiet. I guess people don't like being wrong. But there are a few that apologize and ask more questions which I am fine with. I just don't understand why people have to be so mean and rude. Or you get those trolls that like to make fun of me. Those people I just automatically blocked because they are not worth my time. But I can honestly say this enclosed mobility scooter is perfect for my needs. Everyone thinks that I should have it modified and have it go faster but I honestly don't mind and like the fact that it only goes 15 miles per hour. If it were to go faster I wouldn't legally be allowed to drive this on the sidewalk, bike lane or shoulder of the road which is where I feel comfortable and safer. On the sidewalk I can only drive 4mph but on the bike lane or shoulder of the road I can drive the 15mph. I understand and respect the vision that I do have so I wouldn't feel comfortable going any faster than that. Plus this mobility scooter has space for 3 which is perfect for me because I have a 16 year old son and a 3 year old daughter that I need to drive around. For many years we had a bicycle with a bike trailer and a regular open to 2 seated mobility scooter to drive around in the terrible weather and honestly we are traumatized. This amazing enclosed mobility scooter has been a lifesaver and game changer for sure. We absolutely love it. You don't see a lot of these because they come from China. But many people in the UK, Canada, Italy and Florida have these. Not just elderly or disabled people but people that live in small communities and love to have something like this to get around their little neighborhoods. Which is basically what I do. I like to stay in my small neighborhood. I don't travel any further.

Some would say it is a a small car But, they are not doing their research properly on things. So, they see a vehicle like this & will always presume it is a car. I do wish people would get their facts right first before they open their BIG GOBS & say the wrong things THINK FIRST before they open that GOB FIRST!!! These are just got a far better cover & a more room to either take a extra person or two or some extra shopping. But, due to these vehicles being able to rach a decent top speed of 15mph. Are they allowed in the UK i don't think so due to STUPID UK rules & regulations that ALL mobility vehicles are not to exceed 8 mph 😠😠😠😠😡👎 I understand why so slow due to some getting by their drivers & not being careful & respectful with them. I GET THAT I REALLY DO!!!! Maybe a rule or law can have these aggressive mobility scooter drivers dealt with some means of punishment should they be found to be such TOTAL MORON with them. SPEED!!! is not the problem with these things it is their owner drivers that is the problem. A simple little thing on the dashboard it is called ( a speed regulator or ajuster dail. I think! ) simply turn it anti - clockwise to slow the vehicle right down. When in a built up area or shops or shopping centres ( malls) SIMPLY have respect for others. & it doesn't matter wether it is 15 mph one or a 4 mph one. We all are supposed to share paved & roadways areas & not behave like tgat individual owns the road or stretch of paved area. People GROW UP MENTALLY & STOP!!! behaving like stupid little spoilt brats.

This enclosed mobility scooter is meant for outdoor use only. The widest part of the scooter is 40 inches. The sidewalks here in my city are 53 inches wide. Just so you know ANYONE can buy or drive a mobility scooter. And I'm legally blind. That is a disability. This mobility scooter is meant to be driven on the sidewalk, bike lane or shoulder of the road. Every city has different laws and rules about mobility scooters. In my city I can drive my mobility scooters on the shoulder of the road which is what I have to do most of the time because there aren't sidewalks or bike lanes everywhere. Top speed is 15mph. And as long as my mobility scooter go's under 20 mph I can legally drive this on the sidewalk, bike lane or shoulder of the road. I've obviously spoken to the police about this before. My enclosed mobility scooter is meant for bad weather so I can drive this in the snow, rain or heavy wind. Perfect to protect me and my kids from the elements. It has, heating, rear view camera, Bluetooth radio, space for a driver and a rear bench seat that fits 2 people, seatbelts, an alarm system and roll up windows. These are made and come from China. They are very popular there and in Canada, Italy, Florida and several other places. This is not your average mobility scooter so it's a good idea to do your research about what your taking about before going online and trying to tell someone about something they have no clue about. Just a thought.
