After such an exciting cliffhanger from the last episode, I had high high hopes that this would be an excellent follow up. It’s really cool of Bert to stick up for Gerard like that. It was a good reflection of his character. The same could be said for Frank, who felt genuine remorse after learning that his comment upset Gerard. Frank doesn’t have bad intentions, yet sometimes the way he speaks his mind can hurt others on accident. It’s really great of Lonely Girl to show some more of the negative sides to her characters, as while they are still great people, not everyone is perfect. Especially Bert. After standing up for Gerard and helping Frank realize his mistake, he could have just stopped there. But no, he had to try and tell Frank not to apologize. He deliberately wants to sabotage Frank’s romance with Gerard, because his jealousy has overtaken his morality. I have been saying that this could happen from the start, and it’s why I NEVER trusted him. I REALLY loved when Frank said exactly what I was thinking in the moment. This would be at 2:35, in which he states? “You have no jurisdiction over where Gee puts his dick.” I have no clue why Bert hasn’t realized that he will NEVER take Gerard away from Frank, but it’s probably due to his lack of intelligence and social cues. It’s truly incredible how this series is able to bring such intense emotions out of me. Most of the time it’s joy, sometimes it’s sorrow, yet in this episode; rage. Everytime Bert spoke, I only got more and more angry with him. He overstepped his boundaries way too far and needs to learn his goddamn place. Much like Hayley calmed Frank and Bert down, her presence also relieved me as well. Things were getting truly tense, and her intervention was a saving grace. Her talk with Frank afterwards really showed her strengths of being a great friend to Frank. Hayley is Frank’s version of Bert, except she’s not a piece of human filth and she’s actually epic. Tense, yet exciting episode!!! I hope the next one involves a fatal car crash that kills Bert!!!
