DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 was the biggest contribution to the Philippine Radio scene, when the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation initiated their reopening with the initial telecast of DZMM 630: Ang Himpilan ng Malayang Mamayanan. Tiya Dely Magpayo was the first anchor to host a DZMM Program named Dear Tiya Dely, while Mel Tiangco and Jay Sonza were the first and original tandem in Philippine Radio history. DZMM later became the 3rd Metro Manila radio station that commenced their 24/7 operations on July 1, 1989, after the Radio Mindanao Network's DZXL, Ang Radyo Natin Manila and the Manila Broadcasting Company's DZRH started their 24/7 operations on July 1, 1987 and January 1, 1988 respectively, as their archrival DZBB 594 of GMA Network started their 24/7 operations on April 30, 1992

I will always cherish the memories of listening DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 as one of my childhood radio stations. Apart from listening to Mellow Touch 94.7, 939 KCFM, 96.3 WRock Manila, and Campus Radio 97.1 WLS FM, DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 was my second home on the AM Band, where Tita Cleofe Guevarra heard the late Inday Badiday on her signature radio program, Careful, Careful! Sa DZMM, which was aired Weekdays at 2:00-4:00 P.M.

I also grew up listening to DZMM as well as DZBB and DZRH especially during typhoon season. I remember hearing some ads like United Home Products (Unilab) and agricultural stuff from Ciba-Geigy and Hoechst. Don't worry Dante San, ABS-CBN will be back for sure. I missed DZMM-AM became ABS-CBN's flagship AM station that delivers news and public service for the past three decades, it was the special edition of Radyo Patrol sa Madaling Araw about the M/V Doña Paz-M/T Vector tragedies when a RORO ferry and an oil tanker collided, exploded and sank in Tablas Strait just before Christmas of December 20, 1987 and it is said to be the world's worst maritime disaster of the 20th century with lots of passengers and crew members dead on the sea and a handful of survivors, DZMM-AM made this news coverage since when it was started broadcasting on July 22, 1986. Back then, the slogan was DZMM 630: Ang Himpilan ng Malayang Mamamayan (DZMM 630: The Station of the Free People).

Way back then, DZMM 630 kHz operates from 4 am to 12 mn from 1986 until mid-1990s (hindi pa sila 24 hours noong time na ito).. lalo na yung time check buzzer hindi pa rin nagbabago...

I wish you never going to remove this because we have some crisis going on. I’ll going to listen this by before the end of November a time when the vaccine is already here in December. Thank you Dante. I always remember when DZMM Telerayo was started on March 2007 before or right after the Holy Week. It was been the rival of DZBB when they never telecast their radio station a time when Zaido was aired on GMA 7 back in 2007 on prime time right after 24Oras. Now with the COVID 19 crisis but it will be over soon. Then the shutdown of ABS CBN including DZMM was shut down on May 4, 2020. But I heard the supreme court will file the case on August 4, 2020 that’s two weeks for now. I hope Duterte is very happy now about the shut down 😞😞😞😞

​@@dantesEW In fairness to the President Duterte, it was during his time that ABS-CBN's alleged anomalies were opened. There were instance that the management filed a renewal during President Benigno Noynoy Aquino III (the son of then Pres. Cory Aquino), but decided to recall, due to time constraints. I know that it may be a personal grudge, but it may be a legal grounds for swindling. Imagine if you pay a certain amount of money to air the ads, but it was never aired, and yet the money didn't returned. Aside from this, one of the grounds to deny the franchise application was labor issues, issuance of PDRs, and other issues. I just to hope that you watch the hearing regarding this. Still, my heart belongs to those who worked in ABS-CBN. I just pray that there will be light after darkness.

I've been keeping this feeling since I read a series of articles titled "The year of the Dragon" by Raul Locsin 32 years ago. Also, J.P. Enrile submitted recently an analysis concerning problems of ABS-CBN.

@@dantesEW I do believe that President Duterte has no personal grudge to the Lopez. For me, what he want to emphasize is that he smells something fishy. He just want to say it in other way, which people couldn't understand or intentionally twist him. He had a TV Program in ABS-CBN Davao entitled "Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa" (Translated: From the People, for the People). Another thing is ABS-CBN allegedly committed violations by having multiple channels (referring to sub-channels in one channel, since we are shifting to Digital TV Broadcast), and having pay-per-view channel on Free-to-Air TV which was mentioned by FICTAP (a group of Cable Operators), and needs separate franchise for each channels However, PCTA, another cable operator group emphasized that no need for a separate franchise. Now, PCTA was right, as having subchannels is okay. However, FICTAP has a point, which is free to air channels should be seen without any encryption. What ABS did is encryption, which the remaining 4 channels are only seen in their blackbox made by ABS, which NTC did not have go signal. Besides, one of the subchannels should not be as "pay-per-view". Anyways, it is very long to explain regarding this. This is just my two cents, based on what I have observed. I take time to hear both sides, before giving a judgement.
