For me, when there is a story, that's all I will see it as, a story. It doesn't matter whether it's conveyed through a projector, screen or paper. There is a lot to be learned from other people, to dismiss it as trivial would be ignorant.

I've always considered myself a connoisseur of story in video games. Don't get me wrong, I like gameplay too, see Fallout 3, Borderlands 1, Rogue Legacy, ect. I've always felt that a game with a compelling story will end up being one of my favorites and can help me overlook shortcomings elsewhere, see Dragon Age: Origins, with mediocre combat and one of the best stories in a game I've played. However, this little 2-3 hour game? Blows every other story in a game I've seen out of the water. It is literally the only piece of media that had ever made me cry. Not to say others haven't touched me, but I'm not easy to make cry, and you did it. This is an utter masterpiece of a game and if you have any doubts about playing it, push them aside. This is a story of a generation and everyone should play it. Ken Gao, my hat's off to you. You are a masterful writer and designer, and you've made a masterpiece. I can't wait to see A Bird Story and what's next for this series beyond that.

I am playing video games since the mid-80s. I played them all. All the genres, all the exciting games, all the high polished expensive masterpieces. Hundreds and hundreds of games… This one stood out. By far. It’s the pinnacle of them all. I am so thankful to be allowed to experience it. The game helped me to put my life in perspective. How lucky I am. How precious life is. How fast it can all go by. How I should enjoy every minute of it. Since that day I finished this game the song ‘For River’ is my alarm clock ring tone. And it will be played on my funeral…

Then a few weeks ago while I was ill I told myself I would play it and my God, I was absolutely taken aback by how amazing an experience this was. This game was one that I could not even bring myself to buy at a discount on steam. It deserves more than $10 to me. Thank you, Freebird. This is one of my favorite games of all time.

This game was perfect. And I mean that - amazing piano music (from a musician's point of view, beautiful way of using the music to not only accompany the game but to also shape it) and a perfect storyline. I cried, I'm not gonna be afraid to say that, because it was beautiful. Hats off. Well done. Well. Done.

Got this from humble bundle and thought id just play it while waiting for other games to download, until I realised Its 4am and I finished it. The story is really touching and well written never enjoyed a story game for quite some time. it's a tad unpolished yet still amazing non the less. Thank you for making this. I held back a tear while chuckling at the funny moments.

This is literally the exact same experience I had. Bought it in the Humble Bundle, thought it would be short, ended up staying up until 3:30am. It had amazing writing, making me laugh and cry throughout. Loved it.

The story is incredible, amazing, complex, ingenious and just....wow. It's so complex, that every time you watch/play it again you can find new connections between the whole story or even the reality. Like the money for River's illness, her solitude, but then also the end, which was a very mean, but awesome cliff hanger. I don't know what to say...there's so much stuck in my head, but it leads all to the same result: the story of the game is just awesome.
