One semester too late, but still helpful for the upcoming semesters. My first semester was very difficult and I felt like I was drowning, but I made it. Trust me, if I can do it, then anyone can.

Anyone starting RT program during Covid? I’m starting this fall and I’m lowkey panicking because it’s mostly online zoom learning and small groups for labs once a week. I don’t do well online learning since I get distracted easily 😭😩 Your videos are super helpful, btw

Just started my first semester in my 2 year program at my community college in NYC. I’m only 19 and feel very overwhelmed with many new material but yet excited to experience this new knowledge. You’re still my inspiration and hopefully I’ll get through this year 😰🙂

You will! Remember to be nice to yourself in the program. If there is a time you don't do well on something, don't beat yourself up, use it as a learning tool. Evaluate what happened and make adjustments from there. Good luck and let me know if I can help with anything! 💕

I just started on monday and well.....its very slow. Im going to assume that after the first exam things will pick up. But ive been reading the Respiratory Anatomy book like crazy and practicing my math. The first two days of classes have really been intros and syllabus overview. Whats odd is that program director today gave a powerpoint thats very similiar to the one he gave on mandatory orientation meeting a few months ago. Today was suppose to be Anatomy and RT procedures 1 but didnt learn anything. The passed two days ive studied a total 8 hours! I think im going just a little crazy
@BreatheEasyRRT

Sounds like you're getting a little anxious for things to start. The first few days, sometimes even the first class, usually start a little slow and then it will pick up.

Thank you for saying everything clicked during the last semester. I’m about to start my second year within the next few weeks and nothing is really clicking and I’m not connecting the dots yet. It’s kind of concerning. 😂 Any advice before we dive into vents? I’m terrified.
@BreatheEasyRRT
@BreatheEasyRRT 5 жыл бұрын
It clicks at different times for everyone, don't worry! The biggest thing with vents is practice. Spend as much time in lab using the vents as possible. Study your waveforms and practice manipulating the vent settings as you read about them. Good luck!!

What would schooling look like jumping from RT to Anesthesiologist assistant? How long would that take?

Hello first off I want to thank you so much for documenting your experience, your journey has been so extremely helpful to others!!! I am about to start the respiratory program in March, do you have any recommendations of books or material I should be looking over ahead a time? Or do you recommend waiting and going with the flow lol
@BreatheEasyRRT
@BreatheEasyRRT 4 жыл бұрын
Hey! Congratulations on getting started in the program! I usually tell people to take it easy before starting the program but if you want to do something before starting you can always brush up on medical terminology and cardiopulmonary a&p if you've already taken those classes.

hi! i am debating between RT & surgeon tech, my question is, do you have a chance to grow as an RT? much love from Houston Texas ☺️❤️
@BreatheEasyRRT
@BreatheEasyRRT 5 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you're interested in. From RT you can go into education, management, consulting for medical equipment companies, PA, anesthesiologist assistant, etc. I'm not sure what the growth for surgical techs are though. Let me know when you find out, I'd be interested to hear about it 😊

how much math is required? in the RT program

Hi! What is your opinion on completing an accredited course through a junior college rather than going through a traditional program where you must complete the prerequisites? I'm a mom of twins who works full time, and while id love to go the more traditional route, i find myself leaning towards the accelerated JC program. Thanks in advance, love your videos!
@BreatheEasyRRT
@BreatheEasyRRT 4 жыл бұрын
Hey! I actually went the non traditional route and I am happy so far. The only thing I would caution against, some accelerated programs credits are not accepted for higher level degrees (bachelor's, doctorates, etc.) So if you plan on pursuing PA or med school after, those schools may not accept your degree requiring you to return to school to complete their required pre requisites. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!!
@livv909
@livv909 4 жыл бұрын
@@BreatheEasyRRT Thank you for the reply, its nice to hear that others have had success going the same route. The accelerated program near me offers a bachelors program but i did read that the credits are non-transferable so that is good to be aware of. Thank you again for responding~
