I’ve walked up snowdon a few times, often seen the train and thought I’d take the train up one day. I checked the online prices and thought it was ridiculously expensive and then they have the cheek to charge for parking! Great video though!

absolutely stunning footage, thank you for sharing it. I noticed some of the trains on the way down did not appear to have windows you could pull down, in order to film out the windows, which is disappointing. One question I do have is did you use a gimbal to film this or just the camera itself? Many Thanks

Thank you for your kind comment. The camera was a DJI Osmo Pocket. This has an integrated gimbal.

The train stopped a few times to let trains coming in the other direction pass as it is mostly single track. However, passengers can only get out at either end.

Can you just turn up & pay or do we need to book the train?

Tickets can be purchased on the day subject to availability. However, during school holidays tickets can sell out weeks in advance, and they also get very busy in spells of fine weather. I would suggest looking on their website to see what is available before setting out. snowdonrailway.co.uk/

I would love to go on that train to the top but at £39 each for a 4mile ride it's taking the piss. Even if they did just the ride up for a tenner I would do it. But they are money grabbing hard here.

@@pygmygiant how much must they make per trip. well into the thousands. they know most people cant manage the walk up so they punish them. If that train was in europe it would be a 3rd of the cost or less.

The money they charge has to go towards maintaining the engines and probably paying the staff if it’s not mostly volunteers like these steam railways usually are! Get the early bird train, that’s half price!
